On the afternoon of April 3, Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) inspected the grass surface at My Dinh National Stadium. VPF confirmed that My Dinh Stadium's grass surface meets the standards to host V.League matches. The match between The Cong Viettel and Quang Nam on April 6 will still take place at My Dinh Stadium. However, VPF requested The Cong Viettel Club to coordinate with the stadium management board to continue improving the quality of the grass surface.

In the quarter-finals of the National Cup, the match between The Cong Viettel and HAGL took place on a very bad grass field, affecting the quality of the game. Coach Nguyen Duc Thang and his colleague Le Quang Trai both complained about the field.

More importantly, central defender Pham Ly Duc suffered an injury and was out of action for a month due to poor field quality.

My Dinh Stadium has seriously degraded partly due to poor grass care and maintenance after many cultural events were held. In December 2024, My Dinh Stadium held 2 music nights "Anh trai say hi" which made the grass unfit for the matches at ASEAN Cup 2024. After that, VFF decided to organize all home matches of the Vietnam team in Phu Tho.

Recently, My Dinh Stadium has continued to be rented out for cultural events as well as amateur football tournaments. As a result, the grass continues to be affected.

My Dinh Stadium was granted 8 billion VND to repair the grass surface. The plan was approved at the end of last year, so this year the sports industry will carry out the repair and renovation. It is expected that My Dinh Stadium will have the entire grass surface repaired and the foundation redone. The current grass surface has 20 layers, and in the near future, it will be dug up 40-50 layers to completely renew it. In addition, the water sprinkler system will also be upgraded.

On April 3, the Government Office issued Document No. 2790/VPCP-KGVX dated April 3, 2025 conveying the direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on the plan to effectively exploit My Dinh National Stadium.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has directed the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism to urgently direct research and develop a plan to exploit My Dinh National Stadium, ensuring effective exploitation, avoiding waste and degradation; and report to the Prime Minister before April 15, 2025.
