Vietnamese colors honor designs from silk and brocade

Designers Duc Vincie and Nguyen Thanh Danh introduced new collections designed from main materials such as silk, brocade and natural materials, spreading the message of environmental protection.

On the evening of September 13, an art and fashion show themed Colors of Vietnam took place at Lam Son Park, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.

The program brings emotional musical performances, along with a special fashion show introducing the latest designs from designers Duc Vincie and Nguyen Thanh Danh.

Duc Vincie brings a new breeze to silk and brocade

Designer Duc Vincie introduces two new collections including Vietnamese Soul and Brocade.

From familiar materials such as silk and organza, designer Duc Vincie has breathed new life into his designs.

These designs are part of the Vietnamese Soul Ao Dai collection. The characteristic of silk material has long been reserved for queens and kings.

Duc Vincie's second collection, called Brocade, uses natural materials: brocade of the Ede, Mong, Dao, Thai ethnic groups; silk; hemp; pandan leaf fabric, coconut fiber...

Design from hand-dyed fabric using almond leaves and dried coconut shells

Dung is the name of the new collection by designer Nguyen Thanh Danh. His designs are inspired by the rustic, simple things of the Vietnamese countryside, especially the Phu Gia conical hat making village.

These designs reflect the designer's simple, pure perspective.

The familiar Ao Ba Ba, Ao Dai and Conical Hat are innovated with new materials close to nature such as linen, silk, fabric made from banana fiber, lotus fiber and hand-dyed with almond leaves and dried coconut shells.

“Through this collection, I want to honor the value of Vietnamese craft villages and the message of environmental protection,” said designer Nguyen Thanh Danh.

He confirmed that the materials used are 100% organic and environmentally friendly.

The art and fashion program is part of the 4th Ho Chi Minh City Economic Forum 2023 , taking place from September 13 to 17.

The activity is jointly implemented by the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Center, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, the Ho Chi Minh City Textile, Embroidery and Knitting Association and the Ho Chi Minh City Leather and Footwear Association.

Accordingly, the art - fashion program each night has a different theme with the participation of many famous artists.

Designers Duc Vincie, Ivan Tran , Nguyen Thanh Danh, Dexnol Tuan Huynh, Tran Minh, Thanh Hang, Truc Hue participated in the show of new collections.
