Cristiano Ronaldo became the first player in history to play in six different EURO finals, a super record that is unlikely to be surpassed.
Early morning of June 19, the Portuguese team entered the opening match of Group F EURO 2024 against the Czech Republic. Cristiano Ronaldo was selected by coach Roberto Martinez to start and although he did not score, he still set a super record and together with his teammates, got 3 thrilling points.

Accordingly, Ronaldo became the first player in history to play in 6 different EURO finals. Before the 2024 tournament in Germany, CR7 played with the maroon team in EURO 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020. Among them, they won the title in 2016.
The person who is closest to Ronaldo in terms of appearances in EURO tournaments is Luka Modric, with 5. However, Modric, who is 38 years old, is unlikely to equal the above feat by maintaining the competition for another 4 years.

Returning to the Portugal vs Czech Republic match, although Ronaldo did not score and even though he conceded the first goal (Provod 62'), CR7 and his teammates still won a thrilling 2-1 comeback victory, thanks to an own goal by Hranac (69') and a late goal in the 90+2 minute by Francisco Conceicao, son of famous player Sergio Conceicao.
The 2-1 victory and 3 points helped Portugal temporarily rank 2nd in Group F, when the remaining match ended with the result of Türkiye 3-1 Georgia.
