On the morning of December 14, Pho Hoa Primary and Secondary School (Duc Pho Town, Quang Ngai) held the launching ceremony of the House of Wisdom and the Humanitarian Bookshelf.
The house of wisdom at Pho Hoa Primary and Secondary School with a roof covering an area of 80 m2 includes a place to display books, a reading room and an open study space of 120 m2 . This area is decorated with beautiful paintings and pictures along with slogans encouraging students to read books, study hard and practice.
Donating books to students of Pho Hoa Primary and Secondary School
The total cost of construction and installation of equipment for the House of Wisdom at Pho Hoa Primary and Secondary School is more than 100 million VND, from the support of the Duc Pho Association in Ho Chi Minh City, former students of the school and philanthropists...
"The House of Wisdom will continue to be invested in to become a digital knowledge center, integrating modern technology, including learning software, digital resources and online courses. The school will expand activities such as exchanges with experts and clubs in the Charity Bookcase organization to improve the quality of the model's operations...", said Mr. Nguyen Duc Hoanh, Principal of Pho Hoa Primary and Secondary School.
On this occasion, the Charity Bookcase program presented the school with more than 700 books worth a total of 50 million VND. In August 2019, the Charity Bookcase program also presented 17 boxes of books to Pho Hoa Primary and Secondary School. Up to now, the school library has nearly 6,000 books, meeting the reading and information needs of nearly 500 staff, teachers and students.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy, Deputy Director of the Institute for Lifelong Learning, said that the Humanitarian Bookcase and the House of Wisdom are two philanthropic programs in the fields of culture and education. These two programs focus on creating, maintaining and developing communities of reading, self-study and lifelong learning completely free of charge.
"Up to now, the Humanitarian Bookcase program has mobilized and donated over 1.6 million books to more than 3,200 schools and communities in all 63 provinces and cities nationwide and some provinces in Laos. The Wisdom House program has built and maintained more than 300 lifelong learning spaces in 17 provinces and cities in Vietnam and 5 other countries...", Mr. Huy said.
