Musician Trinh Cong Son and his youngest sister - Mrs. Trinh Vinh Trinh when they were young.

Within the framework of the project “Research and performance of Trinh Cong Son’s music”, the podcast series “My Trinh Cong Son & Our Trinh Cong Son” introduces a new approach to the musical, cultural and ideological heritage of the Hue-born musician. With an oral history approach, in each podcast episode, the program will talk with a guest who has been associated with musician Trinh Cong Son or his music.

Some of the expected guests include the musician's family and friends, such as poet Nguyen Duy, professor Tuong Lai, teacher Trung Hai, painter Le Thiet Cuong... They are all intellectuals, artists, and art practitioners who are knowledgeable about culture, history, and society in many different fields, leading the audience into new horizons in Trinh Cong Son's life and legacy, such as poetry, painting...

Over the course of each 60-minute podcast episode, the production team also explores and introduces some lesser-known songs by musician Trinh Cong Son. All of the songs are performed by students from the Music Club of Fulbright University Vietnam.

The first podcast episode “Small House We Lie In” released on April 1 on Spotify and Youtube will revolve around the childhood memories that Ms. Trinh Vinh Trinh, the youngest sister, still remembers about her eldest brother.

Interesting stories were revealed, about the time musician Trinh Cong Son tried to find his first melodies on his sickbed with the guitar his mother gave him, about the first song Trinh composed titled “Suong Dem”, the days the musician followed his mother to the temple to chant sutras and the influence of Buddhist philosophy permeating his lifestyle and art.
