TPO – After receiving information about the reduction of food rations for students at Nam Ty Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities (Son La), the People's Committee of Song Ma district decided to remove Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha from the position of Principal of the school.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha, previously the Principal of Nam Ty Primary School for Ethnic Minorities. After receiving information related to the incident of poor and incorrect food rations for students, the People's Committee of Song Ma district dismissed Ms. Ha from her position as principal and transferred her to Chieng Khoong Primary School, performing her duties as a teacher from December 2, 2024. Ms. Ha has a university degree in primary education.
Song Ma District People's Committee also assigned functional units to continue reviewing the quality of boarding meals at all schools in the area and strictly handle violations (if any).
Previously, the People's Committee of Song Ma district (Son La) reported on the incident of the lunch at Nam Ty Primary School for Ethnic Minorities, Nam Ty commune, Song Ma district. According to the report, the working group of the district People's Committee worked with the school's Board of Directors and Principal Nguyen Thi Ha.
After the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha, the school principal, expressed her wish and wrote a resignation letter. The district People's Committee assigned the Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training of Song Ma district to be in charge of the school until a new principal is appointed.

It is known that after inspection teams came to verify the students' meals, the quality of meals has improved. The students' meals are more plentiful and nutritious.
Specifically, in today's lunch (December 3), the students' menu was improved with rice, fried meat, stir-fried vegetables with meat, and vegetable soup.
As Tien Phong reported, parents whose children study at Nam Ty Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities reported that since October, when their children came home from school, they often complained that the meals at school were boring and hard to eat. Parents went to the school to check and discovered that the meals were meager with little vegetable soup and sausages, some meals only had vegetables and boiled eggs, some meals only had vegetables and tofu, and some meals had meat... Parents have complained to the school's Board of Directors, but the students' meals have not improved.

After that, the education inspection team came to the school and discovered that the menu for many meals of boarding students during the week consisted only of boiled eggs and fried sausages. At the time of the inspection (November 28), the school's meal menu and spending level for students were publicly announced to be short by nearly VND5,000/student.
According to Decree 116/CP of 2016 of the Prime Minister, the policy to support students and primary schools in extremely disadvantaged communes and villages stipulates that the support level for students is 936,000 VND/month/student. For primary school students, implementing 22 boarding days/month will have a meal level of 42,545 VND/day/student.
