In an interview with the local daily El Tiempo, Mr. Murillo reiterated that Bogota's decision to expel a number of Argentine diplomatic staff in Colombia, including the Ambassador, on March 27 was to "protect the honor of the country's President."
Colombia's foreign minister said he would not allow the far-right Argentine leader to continue using inappropriate language towards President Gustavo Petro, and expressed confidence that the two neighboring countries could "overcome this difficult moment."
Mr. Murillo affirmed that the Colombian consulate in Buenos Aires and its associates are still operating normally and that trade between the two South American countries, worth 1.675 billion USD in 2023, is not affected by diplomatic tensions.
