Opening the event, Mr. Federic Ronal expressed his desire to expand cooperation with partners in Vietnam. He emphasized that the goal of the port city of Marseille as well as the entire Aix - Marseille Provence region is to develop an economic bridge with the Asian market, and Vietnam is considered an ideal partner in this strategy.
Mr. Ronal explained that with a young and dynamic population of more than 100 million people, Vietnam is not only a potential consumer market but also an important partner in the global supply chain. In addition, the historical connection between France and Vietnam also creates favorable conditions for French businesses to invest and develop economic relations in Vietnam.
On the Vietnamese business side, the representative of VFA expressed his desire for long-term and sustainable cooperation with French partners. VFA affirmed that they are considering specific projects so that Vietnamese businesses can invest and expand their business activities in France in the near future. The representative of VFA said that they will arrange a Vietnamese business delegation to France to work directly with partners, promoting the cooperation process. This will not only help strengthen the relationship between the two countries but also open up many economic development opportunities for both sides.
Mr. Nguyen Cong Tot - Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Marseille - also shared the importance of this "Economic Meeting" event. He said that this is a valuable opportunity for French businesses to explore the Vietnamese market and seek cooperation partners in many different fields, from industry, trade, education to culture. Mr. Tot emphasized that the goal of this cooperation is to build a sustainable relationship, based on reciprocity and balanced trade exchange between the two countries. To achieve this, he pledged to support VFA businesses in exploring the French market and connecting with suitable partners. At the same time, he also announced plans to organize a business delegation from the Aix - Marseille Provence region to visit Vietnam in June 2025, aiming to expand cooperation opportunities for businesses of the two countries.
Emphasizing the strategic role of Marseille port in connecting Vietnamese goods with the French and European markets, Head of the Vietnam Trade Office in France Vu Anh Son said that the Aix - Marseille Provence region is one of the regions with strong economic potential, with diversity in industries and active participation of businesses in international trade activities.
He affirmed that taking advantage of cooperation opportunities with businesses in this region will help Vietnamese goods easily penetrate the French market through the Marseille gateway. This is a great advantage that Vietnamese businesses need to exploit to increase their presence in the European market.
In addition to this event, the Vietnam Trade Office in France is also working hard to cooperate with partners in other regions of France to facilitate Vietnamese businesses to access international markets. The Trade Office is also actively updating information, sharing and connecting businesses early, with the goal of preparing for another important event - the plan to bring a business delegation from Marseille to Vietnam to attend the "Connecting supply chains" event organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, scheduled to take place in June 2025. This will be an opportunity for businesses from both countries to continue to exchange and cooperate, and thereby build mutually beneficial partnerships.
According to the Vietnam Trade Office in France, through activities such as “Economic Meetings”, it is playing an important bridging role in promoting economic cooperation between Vietnam and France. By creating opportunities for meetings, exchanges and cooperation between businesses of the two countries, the Trade Office is making an important contribution to enhancing bilateral trade relations, thereby opening up new prospects for economic development in the future. With the support and commitment of both sides, French and Vietnamese businesses will have the opportunity to develop sustainable cooperation, contributing to the common development of both countries.
Through these efforts, the event is not only an important stepping stone to promote cooperation between French and Vietnamese enterprises, but also creates conditions to build trust and strong relationships between the participating parties. This will help to further expand the potential for economic cooperation, not only limited to the field of trade but also spreading to other areas such as education, culture and science and technology. In the future, with the active support from representative agencies, businesses of the two countries can fully expect new successes, not only in business development but also in promoting diplomatic and cultural relations between France and Vietnam.
