On the morning of February 18, Mr. Tran Chi Cuong, Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee, attended the "Tree Planting Festival" at the Northwest New Urban Center (Lien Chieu District, Da Nang City).
At the park and walking garden of area 1 of the Northwest New Urban Center (Hoa Minh Ward, Lien Chieu District), Mr. Tran Chi Cuong, along with leaders of Lien Chieu District and departments, branches and sectors, planted trees and fruit trees.

On the morning of February 18, about 40 trees of various types such as golden bell, king areca, queen's cassia (royal cassia), ornamental palm, frangipani, green-skinned grapefruit... were planted on a 1,200 m2 campus.
Mr. Huynh Anh Vu, Vice Chairman of Lien Chieu District People's Committee, said that with the characteristics of the new Northwest urban area having few green areas, the district has a project to develop 10-12 parks and walking gardens, mainly located in residential areas according to the planning to increase convenience for local people.
Parks and gardens these days not only have trees but also invest in exercise equipment, combined with community centers so that people can enjoy essential amenities, spacious facilities, organize activities and improve healthy cultural and spiritual life.
Lien Chieu District invests in 10 - 12 parks and walking gardens to increase convenience for residents.
Responding to the project "Planting one billion trees"
In addition, Lien Chieu District also launched a campaign for officials and people to actively plant trees, not only in spring but also regularly depending on conditions at offices, homes and neighborhoods.
Previously, on February 17, the Da Nang City Labor Federation also organized a "Tree Planting Festival", planting trees at Bau Tram Lake (Road No. 7, Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, Lien Chieu District).
After the launching ceremony, nearly 200 union members and workers of the city planted 1,000 trees with 3 main types of trees: acacia, dracontomelon and longan.
After completing parks and walking gardens, the locality continues to invest in community activity houses for the people.
Bau Tram Lake is the belt area between Hoa Khanh Industrial Park and new urban areas in the northwest of Da Nang along Me Linh road.
Planting trees here aims to green Hoa Khanh Industrial Park and new residential areas, create landscape and protect the environment.
According to the Da Nang City Labor Federation, this is the third year the unit has launched the "Tet Tree Planting" campaign to contribute to the completion of the City People's Committee's goal of planting more than 5 million trees in the area by the end of 2025.
This is also an activity in response to the Government's project "Planting one billion trees" in the 2021 - 2025 period, aiming to protect the ecological environment, improve the landscape and respond to climate change, improve the quality of people's lives and develop sustainable urban areas.
