National relic Hai Van Quan, anchovies... in the logo identifying Lien Chieu district

On December 12, the People's Committee of Lien Chieu District, Da Nang City held a ceremony to announce and award the Lien Chieu District logo design contest.

According to the People's Committee of Lien Chieu District, the contest (launched in April 2024) received 54 entries from authors nationwide. Many of the authors are art experts from universities and art centers; there are also authors who have won high awards in logo contests of provinces and cities.

After the preliminary and final rounds, the jury selected and awarded first prize to the work of author Nguyen Ngoc Huy Man (Thanh Khe District, Da Nang City); second prize was awarded to the work of author Pham Tam (Tan Phu District, Ho Chi Minh City); third prize went to the work of author Hoang Thi Thu Thao (Thang Binh District, Quang Nam Province).

The first prize winning work will be selected as the official logo and brand identity of Lien Chieu District.

Logo carries the message "Culture is the driving force of economic development"

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Huy Man (Thanh Khe District, Da Nang City) said that the logo was designed with images of lotus, star, Hai Van Quan national relic, ship and anchovy, with the main color being blue. With these images, the logo represents the meaning of dynamic, sustainable and everlasting development, creating the image of the constructive hands of the Party and the government joining hands and hearts to build Lien Chieu District to be more and more civilized and integrated; tourist destinations bearing cultural sediments, historical marks of the people and land of Lien Chieu District; at the same time, expressing the goal of development and integration with the direction of marine economic development through the image of the ship.

"Since the name of Lien Chieu means lotus, we took the lotus image as the main theme. In addition, the image of a boat crossing the ocean waves brings economic development to Lien Chieu. In addition, cultural and historical elements are fully expressed in the logo, including the image of the national relic Hai Van Quan and anchovies symbolizing the intangible heritage of Nam O fish sauce village... We want to convey the message that culture is an important driving force for economic development of Lien Chieu," Mr. Man emphasized.

People's Committee of Lien Chieu District (Da Nang City) launched the logo to identify the local brand.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Thanh Hoa, Chairman of Lien Chieu District People's Committee, expressed his thanks and appreciation for the positive contributions of the design works participating in the contest. The designers, with their own abilities, have created diversity in their approaches and in conveying the unique features and imprints of culture, history, places and people of Lien Chieu land.
