Recently, Mr. Bui Van Quang, Chairman of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee, signed a document to the Prime Minister requesting the Central Government to support emergency treatment projects to overcome the effects of storm No. 3.
According to the above document, due to the impact of storm No. 3 and widespread flooding in the northern provinces, on September 9, Phong Chau bridge collapsed, with its pillars and two main spans (spans 6 and 7 on the right bank of the Thao River) swept away, in Tam Nong district, Phu Tho province.
In the face of the above situation, the People's Committee of Phu Tho province requested the Prime Minister to pay attention to directing and assigning the province to implement investment procedures for two projects including: Building a new bridge to replace the old Phong Chau bridge with a total investment of 865 billion VND; reinforcing and upgrading the weak dike, embankment and flood-prevention wall system of the left and right dikes of Thao river with a total investment of 250 billion VND.
According to the People's Committee of Phu Tho province, the above proposal is to implement the direction of General Secretary and President To Lam at the working session with the province on September 12.
At the same time, the investment in the above two projects aims to create conditions for Phu Tho province to promptly overcome and ensure smooth traffic on National Highway 32C, meeting the requirements of flood prevention, protecting the safety of people's lives and property and national infrastructure projects, including the Yen Vien - Lao Cai railway...
