Readers' Choice Awards 2024 announced Phu Quoc as the only Vietnamese representative in the top best islands in the world, ranking second out of 10 Asian islands in the top.

The award was organized by Condé Nast Traveler magazine in early October. Vietnam was honored in two categories, including ranking 15th in the top countries worth visiting in the world. Notably, Phu Quoc for the third consecutive year was included in the list of "The World's Best Islands" with a score of 95.36, up from 88.89 last year. This score was evaluated by global readers based on many criteria such as service quality, scenery, beaches, cuisine and hospitality.

This score brings Phu Quoc from 8th place in the top 10 Asian islands to second place, just behind Bali (Indonesia) with a score of 95.71. Phu Quoc surpasses other competitors such as Koh Samui, Phuket (Thailand), Langkawi and Penang (Malaysia).

This year, Phu Quoc has received many compliments from the world's tourism community. In July, Travel + Leisure magazine voted Phu Quoc the second most beautiful island in the world, after the Maldives, at the World's Best Awards 2024. DestinAsian listed Phu Quoc among the top 10 most wonderful islands in Asia. Lonely Planet named Phu Quoc the top beach destination of the decade. In addition, the Korean newspaper Chosun Ilbo called the island a destination that "satisfies" all five senses.

In addition to its natural beauty, the "Pearl Island" also offers many unique entertainment experiences and a world-class resort infrastructure system. Phu Quoc is also the only place in Vietnam that exempts visas for all visitors with a stay of up to 30 days.

Famous resort brands such as JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort, La Festa Phu Quoc - Curio Collection by Hilton, New World Phu Quoc Resort and Premier Village Phu Quoc contribute to turning this place into an international resort destination.

Besides resort, visitors to Phu Quoc can experience the world's longest three-wire cable car to Hon Thom, or visit Cau Hon - the most beautiful place to watch the sunset in Phu Quoc. International shows such as Kiss of the Sea combining 8 types of performing arts, Symphony of the Sea is about to debut with jetski, flyboards and traditional Vietnamese elements such as drums and flags also impress visitors.

In particular, Sunset Town in the south of Phu Quoc Island displays artistic fireworks every night, making the island a year-round festival destination. Visitors can also explore local fishing villages, pepper gardens, fish sauce factories or enjoy local specialties such as bun quay (stir-fried noodles) and herring salad.

In the first nine months of this year, Phu Quoc welcomed more than 720,000 international visitors, an increase of more than 56% over the same period last year and exceeding the annual plan by more than 8.6%. Phu Quoc currently welcomes visitors from more than 150 countries and territories with many direct flights from South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, and Taiwan. From October, the island will have more flights from Hong Kong, Singapore, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Russia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.

Phu Quoc is expected to welcome 100 international flights per week during the end of this year's tourist season. This number is up about 25% compared to the same period last year. Many experts believe that the constant attention from international media will help the pearl island become a "tropical paradise" that all tourists want to experience.
