The dispatch stated: In the first quarter of 2025, with the strong direction of the Government and the Prime Minister, and the active participation of ministries, branches and localities, the traffic order and safety situation continued to improve. Traffic accidents were reduced in all three criteria, traffic congestion was controlled. The Prime Minister highly appreciated the ministries, branches and localities for proactively planning to ensure traffic safety during the year, during peak periods, and implementing according to assigned functions and tasks.
During the April 30 - May 1 holiday and the peak summer tourist season in 2025, it is forecasted that travel and transportation demand will increase, creating greater pressure on traffic safety work, potentially leading to higher risks of traffic accidents and traffic jams.
To ensure traffic safety and facilitate people's travel during the April 30 - May 1 holiday and the peak summer tourism season in 2025, the Prime Minister requested ministries, branches and localities to: Proactively follow the actual situation, urge and supervise the best implementation of traffic safety activities according to the functions, tasks and plans of each ministry, branch and locality during the peak holiday season of April 30 - May 1 and the peak summer tourism season in 2025.
Chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities direct agencies, units and functional forces to review local plans, ensuring adherence to plans and directions of central ministries and branches; assign specific units to implement; focus on managing and controlling common violations during holidays, routes, areas and times with high risk of traffic accidents and traffic jams in the area; integrate traffic safety assurance content into the organization of transportation, tourism and resort activities in the area; organize 24/7 duty during the holidays; strengthen coordination and information exchange on traffic safety assurance between units directly responsible for ensuring traffic safety in the area.
Ministries, branches and localities shall announce hotline numbers on traffic safety to receive and promptly handle people's feedback during the holidays; send results of the implementation of traffic safety tasks (report on holidays before 3:00 p.m. every day, report the entire peak holiday period from April 30 to May 1 before 3:00 p.m. on May 4, 2025) to the National Traffic Safety Committee; assign the National Traffic Safety Committee to monitor, synthesize and report to the Prime Minister on the results of the implementation of this Official Dispatch.
