Sa Pa Town and Lao Cai City Launch Action Month for Food Safety in 2025

On April 17, Sa Pa town and Lao Cai city launched the Food Safety Action Month 2025 with many practical activities.

* In Sa Pa , the Town People's Committee held a launching ceremony for the Food Safety Action Month 2025 with the theme "Ensuring food safety, focusing on food safety in collective kitchens, catering services and street food".

Sa Pa town currently has 1,603 food establishments, of which the health sector manages 606 establishments including: 391 food service establishments, 77 street food establishments; 138 collective kitchens at schools.

In recent times, the work of ensuring food safety in the town has had many positive changes. The work of propaganda, education, inspection and supervision has been increasingly implemented synchronously and effectively.

However, Sa Pa town still faces many difficulties in managing and ensuring food safety such as: using raw materials of unknown origin, unhygienic processing, improper food preservation... This affects the health of residents and tourists.

To effectively implement the Food Safety Action Month in 2025, Sa Pa town requests agencies, departments, branches, socio-political organizations and local authorities to seriously implement the direction of the Central Government, the province and the town on ensuring food safety; promote communication and education of the community, especially among ethnic minorities and students to change consumer behavior, encourage the use of food of clear origin and quality assurance; resolutely fight, prevent and strictly handle organizations, individuals, production and business establishments that violate food safety regulations.

During the Food Safety Action Month 2025, many response activities were deployed throughout the town, such as: Organizing launching ceremonies, parades, and propaganda; implementing communication campaigns to ensure food safety; establishing interdisciplinary inspection teams on food safety...

At the ceremony, food businesses in the town signed a commitment to ensure food hygiene and safety.

After the launching ceremony, representatives of agencies, units, armed forces, union members and youth participated in the parade in response to the Month of Action for Food Safety 2025 on the central streets of the town (photo above).

* In Lao Cai city , the City People's Committee also held a launching ceremony for the Month of Action for Food Safety in 2025.

The 2025 Food Safety Action Month has the theme “Ensuring food safety, focusing on food safety in collective kitchens, catering services and street food”, taking place from April 15 to May 15.

Launching the Action Month for Food Safety in 2025, the leaders of Lao Cai City Medical Center requested: Agencies, units, People's Committees of communes and wards closely follow the theme to deploy specific and practical activities and tasks to ensure food safety; actively respond to and effectively implement the goals of the action month; heads of units proactively direct inspection and supervision, strictly handle violations of regulations on food security and safety; resolutely prevent the production and trading of unsafe food; continue to build value chains to supply safe and quality food; prioritize the development of specialized areas and clean and safe agricultural production.
