Accordingly, Mr. Tran Minh Khoa won 93.3% of the votes for the position of Chairman of Phu Quoc City People's Committee (term 2, 2020-2026).
Mr. Tran Minh Khoa, (born in 1973), hometown An Minh district, Kien Giang province; Senior in Political Theory; Bachelor of Foreign Trade; Bachelor of English; Master of Business Administration. Before being transferred to Phu Quoc city, he was the Director of the Department of Finance of Kien Giang province.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of Phu Quoc City People's Committee Tran Minh Khoa said: "I feel happy and moved to have received the high trust of the People's Council delegates of Phu Quoc City. With this honor, I also feel my heavy responsibility towards the voters and the people of Phu Quoc. Phu Quoc has recently developed to reach international standards. That is shown through many different perspectives, making me and the people of the island very proud. We promise the voters and the people of Phu Quoc that we will strive to make Phu Quoc rich and beautiful and become a resort tourism center of national and international stature."
Previously, on August 19, the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee of Kien Giang province held a conference to deploy decisions on personnel work on Phu Quoc island. Accordingly, Mr. Huynh Quang Hung - Chairman of Phu Quoc City People's Committee, ceased to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, and ceased to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of Phu Quoc City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term; Transferred and appointed Mr. Huynh Quang Hung as Deputy Head of Phu Quoc Economic Zone Management Board; Transferred and appointed Mr. Tran Minh Khoa, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Finance, to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, and hold the position of Deputy Secretary of Phu Quoc City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
On the same day, Phu Quoc City People's Council dismissed Mr. Mai Huu Kich from his position as Vice Chairman of Phu Quoc City People's Council, for the reason: accepting another assignment; and elected Ms. Dang Thi Anh Dao - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Organization Committee of the City Party Committee to replace Mr. Mai Huu Kich.
