Sports among women are growing stronger and deeper. Exercising to improve health, have fun and show off sports talent has become an indispensable part of women's lives. At each different age, women choose for themselves at least one suitable sport to satisfy their passion, be healthy, beautiful and have more joy in life.
Health and joy every day
Every week at 5pm from Monday to Saturday, 30 members of the Zumba Club at THINK Fitness & Yoga Center (Dong Ha City) enthusiastically practice dance moves to youthful, vibrant music.

Coach Nguyen Thi Dang Tien, President of the Zumba Club, said that the club has been established for 9 years. Initially, from a small group only practicing basic aerobic and zumba exercises with simple movements, we have now increased the quantity and quality of dance lessons to meet the needs of women. Every day, club members aged 25-60, working in many different industries, gather to exercise, improve their health, strengthen solidarity, and enjoy the joy of music.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung, in Ward 5, Dong Ha City, shared: “Although my housework is busy, I only spend time in the kitchen and taking care of my family, so sometimes I feel bored. For the past 7 years, I have joined the Zumba Club and realized that exercising brings many health and mental benefits.”
In order to meet the needs of the majority of women, many sports facilities and centers have been established. The whole province has many sports clubs and private facilities providing services in the field of sports, basically meeting the diverse sports needs of women.
Martial artist Truong Ngoc Phuong, Head of Mai Han Traditional Martial Arts Club and Ngoc Phuong Kick Boxing Club (Trieu Phong District) said that over the past 4 years, the Club has organized many useful sports activities for people in Trieu Dai Commune and some neighboring localities. Among them, there are quite a lot of women and female students because they are the weaker sex and have the need to practice their health and self-defense skills.
Women in rural areas are at a disadvantage because they have fewer opportunities to study or play sports systematically. Therefore, I provide a suitable lesson plan and time after work so that they can practice. For female students, I focus on teaching them martial arts skills for self-defense, confidence and courage in life.
In addition to working at Trieu Dai, I also teach at many other centers in Quang Tri province and realize that most women want a good training environment and good coaches to enjoy daily joy with healthy and beneficial sports activities.
Special tribute
Women are a special half of the world, therefore, the beauty of women in sports is also recognized and honored through special titles and awards. Recently, at the 2024 Quang Tri Medical Sector Men's and Women's Mini Football Tournament held from February 20-23, 2024, the title of beauty queen was awarded to athlete Tran Thi Huong Nhu, from the women's football team of Huong Hoa District Medical Center. "Sports beauty queen" is a title voted for female athletes who possess both competitive talent and outstanding appearance in each tournament.
Huong Nhu is a girl with personality, has a lovely face and is good at many sports such as soccer, volleyball, badminton...
She said: “At the tournament, I played as a striker. Throughout the tournament, I played my best, together with the women's football team of Huong Hoa District Medical Center, winning the championship cup in the women's football event. Winning the title of Miss of the tournament was a surprise and a great joy for me. This is a double title, a motivation for me to play sports better.”

Chairwoman of the Health Sector Trade Union Nguyen Thi Minh Tuyet said that the 2024 Quang Tri Health Sector Men's and Women's Mini Football Tournament will gather 340 players from 12 women's teams and 14 men's teams. This is a practical activity, creating a healthy playground to improve physical fitness, improve health, promote the sports movement, and train the health of civil servants, public employees, and workers in the entire sector. In addition to the men's and women's football tournaments, the Health Sector Trade Union also regularly organizes many sports activities specifically for women such as volleyball, badminton, table tennis, etc.
In addition to the above mini soccer tournament, some tournaments such as: Annual Soccer Tournament for men and women youth of Provincial Agencies and Enterprises; Volleyball Tournament for men and women of Party agencies in 2023... all organize to award the title of beauty queen.
In the province, sports competitions exclusively for women such as folk dance, women's volleyball, women's soccer... are increasingly responded to and supported by all levels, sectors, localities, businesses, and many classes of people.
In response to that interest, female athletes have strived to bring a fresh color to sports with their talent and charm. Many female sports clubs in zumba, yoga, shuffle dance, folk dance, volleyball... have been established. There, women have truly bonded with a common passion, confidently expressing their dynamism and health.
It can be said that sports activities for women organized in diverse forms are the motivation for half of the world to work hard, be creative and confidently contribute in many fields.
