According to the Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang City, in 2024, the two banks of the Han River (Da Nang) will be the venue for 55 regular and annual cultural events and festivals organized by agencies, units and localities. Compared to previous years, in 2024, there will be many new and innovative activities that closely follow the needs and tastes of people and tourists.
According to the list of cultural activities - festivals on both sides of the Han River agreed upon by the People's Committee of Da Nang City, in 2024, Da Nang will have 19 periodic activities and 36 annual activities such as: street dances, singing bai choi, street magic, music and life programs, weekend melodies, street plays... carried out by cultural agencies, units, and associations in the area.

In order for festivals and events to truly leave an impression on the people and tourists, the Da Nang City government has requested units implementing activities on both banks of the Han River to proactively survey the needs and tastes of people and tourists to build quality cultural activities and festivals. At the same time, invest in and innovate the organization of activities in both content and form, ensuring breakthroughs, novelty, attracting people and tourists; increase interaction with the audience to ensure effective organization, moving towards forming unique cultural products on both banks of the Han River.

On that basis, the Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang City has directed its affiliated units to add a number of new activities to the list to create diversity for the cultural events - festivals on both sides of the Han River; build art festivals on major holidays of the city and the country. At the same time, connect and coordinate with private event organizing enterprises to socialize a number of activities to ensure long-term sustainability, have investment resources to build and organize more professional programs.
In particular, to avoid boredom and repetition as well as create new products to attract visitors to Da Nang in 2024, the Da Nang tourism industry mobilizes resources to invest in developing tourism products, including the participation of service businesses, travel agencies, accommodation, etc. At the same time, prepare new product groups, increase the attraction and length of stay of tourists, etc.
Development of walking streets
According to Director of the Department of Tourism Truong Thi Hong Hanh, the tourism industry of Da Nang City mobilizes resources to prepare new product groups, in order to create more attraction and increase the length of stay of visitors. In particular, in the group of night tourism products, a pilot plan will be implemented to organize the extended Bach Dang walking street and a pilot plan for night tourism services on Nguyen Van Troi Bridge and Bo Dong Park; and a festival program on both banks of the Han River will be implemented (increasing the number of street music programs).
One of the new products that many people are interested in is the pilot organization of Bach Dang walking street. After a period of preparation, on the morning of March 24, 2024, the People's Committee of Hai Chau district (Da Nang) held a conference to announce the plan to pilot Bach Dang walking street.
According to Vice Chairman of Hai Chau District People's Committee Truong Thanh Dung, the pilot space for Bach Dang walking street is on the extended Bach Dang street from the road leading to Tran Thi Ly bridge to the end of APEC Park with a length of 1.2 km and connecting to Nguyen Van Troi bridge. The pilot time is from 3:00 p.m. to 0:00 a.m. every day, expected from the end of April 2024 to the end of 2028.
It is expected that the walking street will have 3 clusters of mobile kiosks with 12 kiosks on the entire sidewalk on the east side of Bach Dang Street. The kiosks will use 20-foot dry containers and will be invested and decorated by the business households themselves. At the same time, there will be 5 clusters of mobile sales vehicles with 15 vehicles located on the east lane of Bach Dang Street, the vehicle positions will be interspersed with the kiosks.

Along with that, the district will arrange 5 check-in points; build 2 public toilets; community living space, with stone benches on the sidewalk; landscape trash cans and recycling bins; free wifi stations; 4 security camera clusters; lighting decoration, art and trees..
Regarding the traffic organization plan when the walking street is in operation, Hai Chau district will use 1 lane on the east side of Bach Dang street on weekdays, the remaining 3 lanes will be one-way, with signs indicating a speed limit of 40 km/h per hour and restricting motor vehicles per hour. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, the entire Bach Dang street (from Binh Minh 10 to APEC Park) will be banned...
It can be said that by exploiting the potential and advantages of the locality well, along with investment and upgrading of infrastructure, focusing on service quality, up to now, walking streets, specialized streets, new concentrated business streets, traditional markets serving tourism... in Da Nang are increasingly spacious and operating effectively. These new tourism products have gradually affirmed their brands and contributed significantly to attracting tourists to Da Nang.
