The 18+ horror film Cam will be released on September 20, the box office race will be more exciting with many domestic projects and foreign blockbusters.

Vietnamese box office has many new foreign films, Vietnamese films cool down
After two Vietnamese film projects, "Ma da" and "Getting rich with ghosts" exceeded hundreds of billions, Vietnamese cinema in August and early September had more improvement after a series of failed summer projects.
Currently, films such as "Ma da", "Lam gia voi ma", "Hai Muoi" are still in theaters with good showings. Among them, "Lam gia voi ma" by Hoai Linh still holds more than 2,000 showings - top 1 showings at the box office.
The movie starring Quyen Linh - "Hai Muoi" has "cooled down" after its screening. The movie could not maintain good ticket sales when the project revealed many shortcomings in the script, acting, content...
In September, many foreign films hit the box office such as: "Anh trai vat moi tam tai", "Khong noi dai vi", "Chang nu phi cong", "Tiem tai tai am phu"...
Most of the foreign works are in the horror or comedy genre. Among them, many horror films are released early before Halloween such as: "The Ghost Case", "Heresy Tragedy"...
However, most of the films have not had much breakthrough in revenue at Vietnamese theaters because there are not many screenings for these films, plus the films are not attractive enough to attract audiences to the theater.
On September 20, a Vietnamese horror film with an investment of 1 million USD, "Cam", was released. The film is expected to be the next Vietnamese horror project to reach 100 billion VND after Quy Cau and Ma Da.
The movie "Cam" received much attention in the early screening.
In media and entertainment screenings, there were many positive reviews for this project.
Playing the role of a stepmother in the movie "Cam", Thuy Diem shared: "People often say, "no stepmother loves her husband's children", it is common for stepmothers to mistreat their husband's children. However, in the movie "Cam", Thuy Diem's stepmother character rejects and abandons her own biological child.
That's why this role was so scary to me. I asked myself a lot of questions when I received the script, like why she didn't feel sorry for Cam's poor fate, because she couldn't be a normal girl. Why was she Cam's biological mother, but instead of protecting her unfortunate child, she rejected her right after she was born... I was terrified of my character because of that cruelty."

Director Tran Huu Tan said that in the film, the crew wanted to clarify the contrast between Tam and Cam in the first half of the film: Tam was born loved and pampered; while Cam was always instilled with the idea that she was a disgrace to her family.
Despite the contrast, they still love and protect each other. This is different from the story of Tam Cam.

The filmmakers intentionally created surprises in the prominent scenes in Tam Cam: Cam gave her shrimp to her sister instead of taking credit, Tam chose the "rice" for her sister to protect Cam, the wish-granting Buddha was actually an evil entity...
In early screenings, many audiences and the media gave positive reviews. However, the film still has some errors in the script, sudden plot... Even so, this is still considered a "dark horse" at the box office in the coming time.
