During a mission, the group is chased by boss Sakun (Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat) but is helped by assassin Chien (Huu Vi), and at the same time falls into a journey to rescue innocent kidnapped children.

The work follows the common formula of many Vietnamese films when combining many genres such as action, crime, romance, comedy... to lead the story. That makes the content inconsistent, creating a sense of chaos.

The script has many absurd errors, such as the characters fighting in the forest but dressing sexy, not afraid to show off their bodies as if they were at a nightclub. Many scenes filmed in restaurants and hotels make the assassins look more like they are on vacation than on duty.

The dialogue is also a minus point. The characters speak unnaturally, making people laugh with awkward situations, causing viewers to lose sympathy.

The film has a diverse background, spanning from Vietnam to Korea, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia and Myanmar. However, each country only appears briefly and is not prominent.

According to the crew, the main actresses had to undergo nearly a year of training in martial arts, driving, swimming, shooting, rope climbing, etc. They also boldly performed dangerous action scenes in the film without the need for stunt doubles.

However, the action scenes in the film are handled quite roughly, the effects are not impressive so they do not create the necessary dramatic feeling. There are also a few quite violent segments that caused the film to be labeled T16 (no audience under 16 years old) when released in theaters.

The main female cast in the film are all unfamiliar names, including Bao Uyen, Tue Minh, Thuy Trang, Ai Van and Cambodian actress Sam Sony. Among them, there are people who are new to cinema, so they lack acting experience and handle their characters superficially.

Although it was the last project of the late People's Artist Hoang Dung, he only appeared briefly. The artist's name was mainly used by the crew to promote and increase the coverage of the film.

Up to now, action movies have not been a favorite dish of Vietnamese audiences like comedies, romances, or family movies. The proof is Thanh Soi, 578: Madman's Bullet (2022), Domino: The Last Exit (2024)… both failed at the box office, suffering heavy losses.

Hot girl squad also fell into a similar situation. When released, the film received many criticisms about the poster, trailer and promotional images. The work made the audience bored because of its outdated content, flawed script and bland acting.

According to statistics of Box Office Vietnam (an independent box office monitor), the film failed to make the top 10 on the box office charts, selling an average of more than 100 tickets per day.

To date, the film's total revenue has only reached over 57 million VND after one week of release. This figure puts the work on the list of the worst-selling Vietnamese films in history, even lower than Fragile flower (430 million VND) at the beginning of the year, just slightly more than Legend of King Dinh (42 million VND) two years ago.

In general, the appearance of Hot girl squad This makes the audience even more fed up, and somewhat lose faith in Vietnamese films. With the current situation, it is likely that the film will have difficulty reaching the 100 million VND mark, and will have to withdraw from theaters early in a loss-making situation.
