Early recognition of the role of transport infrastructure in developing regional and provincial linkages to become one of the "new growth poles", Thanh Hoa province has prioritized allocating investment capital for the transport system in a synchronous, connected and harmonious manner between modes of transport; connecting with the North-South expressway intersections and economic centers and industrial parks.

The traditional Tet holiday of the nation is approaching, the construction sites of key projects in the province are becoming more urgent and bustling than ever, construction contractors are focusing on speeding up construction progress, creating a vibrant working atmosphere in the new year.

At the construction site of Xuan Quang Bridge with a length of more than 1km, considered the longest bridge across the Ma River, part of the project connecting National Highway 1A with National Highway 45 from Hoang Xuan Commune (Hoang Hoa) to Thieu Quang Commune (Thieu Hoa). Hundreds of engineers, workers and machines are busy and hurriedly completing the items to soon close and open to traffic as planned. Not far away, the atmosphere at the construction site of Sub-project 3 from Hoang Kim Commune (Hoang Hoa) to Thieu Long Commune (Thieu Hoa) is filled with the sound of machines, workers stick to the construction site to complete the remaining items.

Head of the Economic - Infrastructure Department of Hoang Hoa district, Le Huy Cuong, said: “The sub-project is 5.25km long with a total investment of 307 billion VND, invested by the People's Committee of Hoang Hoa district. Currently, the contractor has basically completed the sub-project and is focusing on completing the remaining items to ensure the set progress. This is a project connecting National Highway 1A, National Highway 45 with the North-South expressway through Thieu Giang intersection to create space to promote the development of industry, trade - services, tourism, and logistics services in the area. At the same time, to promote the effectiveness of investment in the North-South expressway running through the area”.

From 2020 to present, the province has invested in upgrading, expanding and constructing new national and provincial highways with a total length of 594.9km. Of which, a number of important projects have been completed and put into use such as: North-South Expressway in the East; traffic road connecting Sam Son City with Nghi Son Economic Zone; East-West Avenue of Thanh Hoa City from Rung Thong town to National Highway 1A... Along with that, the province has started construction of a number of major projects such as: Traffic road from Bim Son Industrial Park to the coastal road section Nga Son - Hoang Hoa; Van Thien road to Ben En; road connecting National Highway 1A and National Highway 45 from Hoang Xuan commune (Hoang Hoa) to Thieu Long commune (Thieu Hoa)... Building and announcing the planning of Nghi Son Seaport to become a type I port, with the potential to become a special port and adding Lach Sung Seaport to the Master Plan for Vietnam's seaport development. Complete the establishment and submit for approval the Tho Xuan International Airport Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, and the project to socialize investment and exploitation of Tho Xuan Airport with a capacity of about 5 million passengers/year.

Currently, the unit is focusing on implementing the medium-term public investment plan and the project to attract investment in the form of public-private partnership (PPP) to develop transport infrastructure. Along with that, the pre-feasibility study report for the Eastern 3-branch belt road project from Hoang Hoa district to Quang Xuong district; inter-regional connecting roads from Ho Chi Minh road in Thanh Hoa province to National Highway 6 in Hoa Binh province; roads connecting Thanh Hoa city with Ngoc Lac district and the western districts"...

Up to now, the whole province has 35 recognized urban areas; Nghi Son Economic Zone is one of the 8 key economic zones of the country; 23 industrial sub-zones of Nghi Son Economic Zone and 19 industrial zones in localities in the province are developing strongly, gradually investing in synchronous infrastructure, meeting the requirements of secondary investors, making Thanh Hoa become the production, processing and manufacturing center of the North Central region.

During the visit and working session with Thanh Hoa province, General Director of CMA-CGM Vietnam JSC Esra Bora expressed her impression of the development of infrastructure as well as the transportation system connecting all types of Thanh Hoa province. Ms. Esra Bora emphasized: “For CMA-CGM Group in general and CMA-CGM Vietnam JSC in particular, the development of Thanh Hoa is not only potential, but also strategic. In particular, with a very diverse structure of export goods, industrial parks and clusters being invested in, the company will seize these opportunities to continue investing in developing diverse services, connecting to many ports"...

With breakthrough thinking and strategic vision, Thanh Hoa is actively mobilizing investment resources to build breakthroughs in infrastructure development, creating momentum to promote socio-economic growth, gradually realizing the "aspiration for prosperity" to build and develop Thanh Hoa into a new growth pole in the North of the country.
