NDO - On the afternoon of March 27, at the Vietnam Space Center (Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park, Hanoi), the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission worked with the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology on deploying and implementing Resolution No. 45-NQ/TW on continuing to build and promote the role of intellectuals to meet the requirements of rapid and sustainable national development in the new period; Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Huynh Thanh Dat, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, affirmed that Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo is an important step forward demonstrating the determination of the Party and State in promoting science, technology and innovation to become a key driving force for the country's socio-economic development. This is also a major policy of strategic breakthrough of the Party and State to create momentum for the country to develop strongly and comprehensively in the new era. In particular, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology is the country's leading research institution, playing an important role in implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo.

Comrade Chau Van Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, spoke.

Reporting on the results achieved in implementing the Party's resolutions, Professor and Academician Chau Van Minh affirmed that over the past year, the Central Committee has issued many important resolutions for the development of science, technology and innovation in the country, namely Resolution No. 45-NQ/TW; Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo. In the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology has established a Steering Committee on the development of science, technology, innovation, digital transformation and administrative reform. The Academy has also developed a plan, and at the same time organized the dissemination and popularization to all cadres and Party members of the Academy about Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW and the important and breakthrough solutions of the Resolution. Regarding the immediate tasks, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology focuses on building research programs to develop strategic technologies and foundational technologies; Innovation in the way industry councils operate in priority scientific directions; human resource training plans to meet requirements,...

In addition, the Institute is also honored to be assigned to prepare a number of important projects assigned by the Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Government in the fields of basic research, high-tech projects, and natural disaster prevention...

At the meeting, delegates focused on discussing and contributing opinions on a number of key contents such as: Evaluating the outstanding results that the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology has achieved in implementing Resolution No. 45-NQ/TW, Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW and the Party and State's guidelines and policies on science, technology and innovation; mechanisms and policies to enhance the role of scientists in researching, developing and orienting core technologies, strategic technologies, future technology trends; solutions to enhance research capacity in new fields such as artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, new materials; solutions to promote international cooperation, attract resources, advanced technologies from foreign partners, enhance the position of Vietnamese science in the international arena...

Delegates and scientists also proposed solutions to remove bottlenecks and improve the quality of scientific research, especially research with high practical applications. Promote technology transfer activities, linking scientific research with businesses and production practices.

In his concluding remarks at the meeting, Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology in implementing the resolutions of the Central Committee and the Politburo, especially Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW, Resolution No. 45-NQ/TW and Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW... in orienting the development of science and technology, digital transformation and innovation. The Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology is also a pioneer in digital transformation, leading among Government agencies, achieving an online file processing rate of over 60%; not only providing basic and applied scientific research but also promoting technology transfer, supporting businesses in innovation and digital transformation.

In addition, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology also contributes to training high-quality human resources, building science and technology policies in line with global trends, as well as the digital transformation process, improving national competitiveness and promoting the country's sustainable development.

With the recommendations and difficulties in the fields of journalism, education and science and technology that the delegates raised at the working session, the Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission requested that the leaders of the Commission's specialized departments receive and promptly advise the relevant departments, ministries and branches on solutions to help scientists in general and scientists of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology in particular feel secure in researching in key areas such as new materials, space technology, etc.
