Launching the patriotic emulation movement in 2024

This morning, January 26, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province launched a patriotic emulation movement, signed an emulation agreement for 2024, and commended and rewarded collectives and individuals with many outstanding achievements. Launching the patriotic emulation movement in 2024, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Emulation and Reward Council Vo Van Hung emphasized that 2024 is a year of special importance, a breakthrough year to accelerate the implementation of the goals and tasks set out in the Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress and the 5-year Plan 2021-2025.

Thoroughly grasping the theme of "Discipline, responsibility; proactive, timely; accelerated, creative; effective, sustainable" of the Government, with the determination to successfully implement the 2024 plan, requires the entire Party, government, army and people in the province, more than ever, to continue to uphold tradition, pride and aspiration to rise up, promote the spirit of patriotic emulation initiated by President Ho Chi Minh; unite, be creative, seize new opportunities, proactively overcome difficulties and challenges, strive, determined to complete and over-complete the 2024 plan.

With that spirit, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee launched an emulation movement in the entire Party Committee, government, organizations, armed forces and people in the province with the main contents: Continuing to thoroughly grasp Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on patriotic emulation, the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State on emulation and reward work associated with the implementation of the Government's action motto in 2024, the Action Program of the Provincial People's Committee to implement Resolution No. 01/NQ-CP dated January 5, 2024 of the Government; Conclusion No. 497-KL/TU dated November 29, 2023 of the Provincial Party Committee and Resolution No. 99/2023/NQ-HDND of the Provincial People's Council on the socio-economic development plan in 2024 and the key work program in 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee. Strive to complete and exceed the 2024 plan targets.

In particular, focusing all efforts and the highest determination on important and main targets, which are: Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) growth rate reaches 6.5 - 7%; GRDP per capita reaches 75 - 77 million VND; total budget revenue in the area reaches over 3,896 billion VND; total social investment capital reaches 26,500 billion VND; the rate of communes meeting national criteria for new rural areas reaches 76.2%; creating new jobs for 12,500 workers; the rate of people participating in health insurance reaches 95.2%; the poverty rate decreases by 1 - 1.5%.

Implement well the coordination between Party agencies, government, Fatherland Front and mass organizations to promote the role of gathering and building the great national unity bloc in organizing and implementing patriotic emulation movements to carry out the political tasks of the province. Promote and improve the quality of activities of emulation blocs in the province; do well the work of discovering, fostering and replicating advanced models, examples of "good people, good deeds", creating a vibrant emulation atmosphere, attracting all organizations, individuals and all classes of people to compete, promoting the spirit of creativity, daring to think, daring to do, determined to strive to exceed the targets of plans and tasks of agencies, units, organizations and individuals...

To achieve the emulation tasks in 2024, on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung called on all levels, sectors, and people in the province to promote the tradition of patriotism, the strength of great national unity, the aspiration for a developed and prosperous Quang Tri, and strive to compete in patriotism with specific, dynamic, and creative actions; with all efforts, drastic actions, and the highest determination to successfully and comprehensively carry out the tasks in 2024.

At the ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Dao Manh Hung, on behalf of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee - representing the great national unity bloc in the province, called for response to the patriotic emulation movements launched by the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and Provincial People's Committee. Representatives of 16 emulation blocs in the province signed the emulation covenant in 2024.

On this occasion, authorized by the President and the Prime Minister, the provincial leaders awarded the Second Class Labor Medal to 7 individuals; the Third Class Labor Medal to 1 collective and 14 individuals; the title of National Emulation Fighter to 5 individuals; the Government Emulation Flag to 13 collectives; and the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to 6 collectives and 17 individuals with outstanding achievements.
