Speaking at the launching ceremony, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Lam emphasized that in response to the International Day of Happiness on March 20 and implementing Decision No. 1079/QD-TTg dated September 14, 2022 of the Prime Minister approving the Project on communication on human rights in Vietnam, the Ministry of Information and Communications coordinated with the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and relevant agencies to organize the photo and video contest "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam 2024". This is one of the key activities in the communication plan on human rights of the Ministry of Information and Communications in 2024.
The contest is open to professional and amateur authors, Vietnamese and foreign, domestic and foreign.

According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Lam, the contest was first launched in 2023 and has achieved success, being widely welcomed and highly appreciated by the public at home and abroad. The second time it is held, the photo and video contest "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam 2024" aims to discover and honor meaningful moments and stories in all aspects of political, economic, cultural and social life through photo and video works to affirm the achievements of socio-economic development and international integration, thereby affirming the achievements in the field of ensuring human rights in Vietnam in recent years.
In addition, the contest aims to mobilize the combined strength of all classes of people in the country, the Vietnamese community abroad and international friends in communication work, promoting the image of the country and Vietnamese people to the world.
Delegates attended the contest launching ceremony at the Hanoi Department of Information and Communications.
The participating works are in the photo and video categories, must have a high promotional value on the image of the country, Vietnamese people, cultural values, and nature across the country; arouse national pride and aspirations for development in all classes of people to join hands to build Vietnam to be increasingly prosperous, prosperous and happy.
Entries must have been created from January 1, 2022 to present and have never been submitted or won any previous competitions or exhibitions. Authors submit entries directly on the website https://happy.vietnam.vn, from March 20 to August 20, 2024.
The announcement and award ceremony will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television. Each category has 1 Gold Medal, 2 Silver Medals, 3 Bronze Medals, 10 Encouragement Prizes and 1 Most Voted Work Prize. Of which, the Gold Medal is worth 70 million VND.
The organizing committee selected 100 - 150 works that entered the final round to exhibit to serve foreign information work at home and abroad.
At the launching ceremony, the Ministry of Information and Communications also said that it had sent a document instructing the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to coordinate in organizing the photo and video contest "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam 2024" so that localities can proactively organize their own contests in their localities when needed and exploit the photo and video collections of the contest to serve the communication work on human rights in the area...
