National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man meets with the Vietnamese community in Uzbekistan

During the official visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, on the afternoon of April 8 (local time), National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his wife, along with the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly, met with officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation and concurrently in Uzbekistan and the Vietnamese community in Uzbekistan. Attending the delegation, on the side of Thai Binh province, was comrade Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation and Uzbekistan and the Vietnamese community in Uzbekistan.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man sent to the Ambassador, Embassy staff and the entire Vietnamese community in Uzbekistan warm regards and sentiments from home; informed the people about the country's achievements after nearly 40 years of renovation and affirmed that these results were achieved through the efforts of the entire Party, people and army, including the important contributions of the Vietnamese community abroad.

Appreciating the Vietnamese community in Uzbekistan for always being united, living, studying and working stably in the host country, the National Assembly Chairman stated that this is an important bridge for the relationship between the two countries in the past, present and future. The consistent policy of our Party and State is to always care for and consider the Vietnamese community abroad as an inseparable part, an important factor contributing to strengthening the cooperative and friendly relations between Vietnam and other countries.

The National Assembly has amended and supplemented many new regulations and policies for Vietnamese people living abroad, which stipulate that all Vietnamese citizens are granted identity cards, regardless of whether they live in the country or abroad; land policies for Vietnamese people living abroad are Vietnamese citizens and enjoy the same rights as citizens in the country. Representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy staff and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Uzbekistan attended the meeting.

Comrade Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended the meeting of the working delegation with the Vietnamese community in Uzbekistan.

The National Assembly Chairman said that this visit aims to comprehensively upgrade relations with Central Asian countries in all fields. In the immediate future, he will consider opening a direct flight between Vietnam and Uzbekistan as well as considering the early reopening of the Vietnamese Embassy in Uzbekistan.

The National Assembly Chairman hopes that people will continue to promote the tradition of mutual love and solidarity, comply with local laws, contribute to the development of Uzbekistan and the Vietnam-Uzbekistan relationship; preserve the Vietnamese language and national cultural identity; and continue to contribute their hearts and minds to the cause of building and developing their homeland.

On the morning of April 9 (Hanoi time), National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his wife Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, arrived in Hanoi, successfully concluding their trip to attend the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU-150) and their official visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
