Strive to complete a number of key traffic projects on the occasion of April 30 holiday

On February 18, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan The Tuan inspected the progress of the project connecting National Highway 37 - National Highway 17 - Vo Nhai (Thai Nguyen), Bac Giang province, the Dong Viet bridge project and the road leading to the bridge in Bac Giang city. Accompanying him were representatives of relevant departments, branches, sectors and localities.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan The Tuan inspected the construction progress of the road connecting National Highway 37 - National Highway 17 to Vo Nhai (Thai Nguyen).

The project of connecting National Highway 37 - National Highway 17 to Vo Nhai (Thai Nguyen) was approved by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Giang province in Decision No. 1065/QD-UBND dated June 4, 2021. The project started construction at the end of December 2021, in Tan Yen, Yen The districts and Viet Yen town (Bac Giang). The project has a total length of more than 42 km, with a total investment of more than 1,452 billion VND from the central and provincial budgets. The project includes a main route of 42.16 km and a branch route of 13.79 km.

This is a key project of the province, playing an important role, creating momentum for inter-regional socio-economic development in the province and connecting with other provinces. The project is invested according to the scale of a grade III plain road (TCVN 4054-2005), except for the section of National Highway 17 - Vo Nhai on the main route, which is invested according to the scale of a grade III mountainous road.

At the inspection site, the Provincial Project Management Board for Construction Investment (PMU) of traffic and agricultural works said that, up to now, the site clearance compensation work has been completed. Of which, the main route has been handed over to the contractor for construction for 42.066/42.167 km (the section from Km42+066 - Km42+162.74 in Binh Long commune, Vo Nhai district, Thai Nguyen province is invested by Thai Nguyen province). The branch route has completed the site clearance compensation work and handed over to the contractor for construction for 12.17/13.79 km, of which Tan Yen district has 10.86/11.44 km; Yen The district has 2.35/2.35 km.

The construction unit is focusing on handling the landslide areas at the Highway 37 - Highway 17 connection project to Vo Nhai (Thai Nguyen).

Currently, some construction packages have been completed and handed over for exploitation and use, such as Package No. 08 (Tan Soi - Nha Nam intersection), Package No. 09 (Nha Nam - Phuc Son section). However, on the route, there are a total of 34 landslides on the positive slope, the volume of landslides is estimated at about 400 thousand m³, which have not yet been licensed for mineral exploitation as common filling materials according to regulations. At the same time, repairing and handling the slope mechanism at the locations with landslides is difficult and complicated. Many sections of the route have completed asphalt concrete pavement, but landslides continue to appear, causing danger and difficulties in the repair process...

The Provincial Management Board of Construction Investment and Transport and Agricultural Projects actively coordinated with contractors to speed up the construction progress of some adjusted items, and researched treatment options to ensure the stability of the slope before handing over the project for use.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan The Tuan inspected the Dong Viet Bridge Project and the road leading to the bridge in Bac Giang City.

Inspection of Dong Viet Bridge Project and the approach road to the bridge in Bac Giang City shows that the compensation and site clearance work for the entire agricultural land has been basically completed and 7.7/8.0 km has been handed over. Regarding the road section, the unit has completed 4.0/7.725 km; construction and installation of 30/32 cross-culverts have been basically completed.

The construction unit has completed the following items for the bridge section: Abutments, bridge piers, bridge deck with 14/14 approach spans, concrete median strip, guardrail edge and steel guardrail installation, lighting pole erection, painting of T7 tower pillar, completion of asphalt concrete pavement on the bridge deck and asphalt concrete pavement at the Hai Duong end of the bridge, installation of expansion joints... Currently, the construction unit is constructing the artistic lighting system.

The construction unit is speeding up the construction progress of the road leading to Dong Viet bridge.

Through on-site inspection, in order to quickly complete the remaining items and hand over the project for early operation, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan The Tuan requested the investor to increase human resources, machinery, equipment, and materials to speed up construction progress and ensure labor safety during project construction.

Regarding the difficulties and problems in the project connecting National Highway 37 - National Highway 17 - Vo Nhai (Thai Nguyen), Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan The Tuan assigned the People's Committee of Yen The district to coordinate with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to review and accurately assess the project's landslide soil and rock reserves, complete procedures, and conduct mineral exploitation auctions according to the provisions of the Law on Minerals.

The Provincial Management Board of Construction Investment Projects for Traffic and Agricultural Works has coordinated well with relevant departments, branches and localities to promptly resolve difficulties and problems; speed up the progress of the remaining items of the projects, carry out contract settlement procedures, and strive to complete these projects before April 30. Thereby, contributing to promoting the circulation of goods, helping people travel conveniently, ensuring traffic safety, developing the socio-economy between Bac Giang province and neighboring localities, creating conditions to attract investors to industrial parks and clusters in the province./.
