On the afternoon of May 27, the Central Organizing Committee coordinated with the Can Tho City Party Committee to organize a conference to announce the Politburo's decision on personnel work.
Attending the announcement ceremony were comrades: Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, Permanent member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Committee; Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Mai Van Chinh, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee; Le Quang Manh, member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly's Finance and Budget Committee.
Comrade Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, Permanent member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Commission, presented the decision to Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu.
On behalf of the Party Central Committee, comrade Mai Van Chinh announced the Politburo's decision on Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.
Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu will cease to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee and cease to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term to be mobilized, assigned, and appointed to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee and hold the position of Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu replaced Mr. Le Quang Manh, who was previously elected by the National Assembly as a member of the National Assembly Standing Committee and Chairman of the National Assembly's Finance and Budget Committee.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu (born in 1976), from Binh Dinh, has a master's degree in Educational Management, a bachelor's degree in Law, and a bachelor's degree in Administration.
From 1991-2005, working in Phu Nhuan district, he was Secretary of the Youth Union of Ward 9, Vice Chairman, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ward 9, Secretary of the District Youth Union of Phu Nhuan district, Ho Chi Minh City.
From 2005 to 2012, working at the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, he held the following positions: Head of the National Defense and Security Department, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union; Member of the Central Youth Union Standing Committee, City Party Committee member, delegate of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, Secretary of the City Youth Union.
From September 2012 to June 2016: Member of the City Party Committee, Secretary of District 2 Party Committee. In January 2016, he was elected as an alternate member of the 12th Party Central Committee.
From July 2016 to April 2020: Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.
From May 2020 to January 2021: Secretary of District Party Committee, District 5.
January 30, 2021: Alternate member of the 13th Party Central Committee, term 2021-2026
June 2022: Deputy Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee
