When talking about Ninh Hoa, we cannot help but mention the salt making profession in Hon Khoi, the vast salt fields with an area of over 700 hectares, where salt farmers have been attached to their whole lives, from generation to generation.

From March to September every year, salt is exploited by salt farmers using the traditional method: After passing through many reservoirs to increase salinity, seawater is brought to the fields to crystallize. From 4am the next morning, salt farmers start scooping and transferring salt to the shore. They only rest in the middle of the day and return to work late in the afternoon.

Although it is hard work, everyone is friendly and hospitable, sharing stories about life and work. Salt is not just a job but a destiny in life.
