10th grade female student in Kon Tum was forced to kneel by her classmates and beaten repeatedly in the face.

On March 29, the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Kon Tum province confirmed that there was an incident in which a female student was forced to kneel and slapped in the face by a classmate, as shown in a video posted on Facebook.

This video, which is over a minute long, shows a female student being forced to kneel by another female student, who repeatedly pulls her hair and slaps her in the face. The victim is beaten until she falls to the ground, but is not let go.

The incident was witnessed by many other students but no one intervened.

Through initial verification, the beaten female student is MT, a 10th grade student at the Dak Glei District Continuing Education Center. The incident occurred at the dormitory of this center.

A representative of the Dak Glei District Continuing Education Center said that on Wednesday evening (March 27), a group of female students from another school broke into the school's dormitory to talk to female student T. Afterwards, female student T. was assaulted by this group of friends.

After the incident, the dormitory classmates did not report it to the school. It was not until March 28 that T.’s family went to the school to report the incident and took T. home for medical care.

Currently, the Kon Tum Department of Education and Training has requested the Center to clarify the incident to have an appropriate form of handling; at the same time, requested to invite the parents of the two families to meet to conduct reconciliation and stabilize the psychology of the students.

On the side of Dak Glei District People's Committee, this agency has assigned the District Police to investigate and clarify the incident.

Previously, in mid-March, in Gia Lai province, TH - a 9th grade student at Le Quy Don Secondary School (Dak Djrang commune, Mang Yang district) was also beaten by a group of classmates.

Specifically, a group of 3-4 female students rushed in to beat and slap female student H. in the face. Being beaten, H. only held her head and endured the beating without any resistance. Seeing that the victim did not fight back, the group of female students continued to pull her hair, take off her jacket, and repeatedly kick her head and body, along with many curses.

At that time, many students were present but no one intervened, on the contrary, they cheered and recorded the clip.

School leaders later said that the school had verified the incident and was taking action.
