NTO - Conference to honor outstanding elderly people participating in building the grassroots political system in the 2019 period

The province currently has 68,500 elderly members, of which 1,770 elderly are participating in Party, government, Fatherland Front, and grassroots mass organizations.

Over the past 5 years, the Elderly Association at all levels has widely launched the "Old Age - Bright Example" movement, which has been widely responded to by the majority of elderly members. Promoting the core role in the grassroots political system, the elderly have made great efforts to propagate and effectively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, the tasks of Party committees and grassroots authorities, mobilized people to compete, effectively carry out patriotic emulation movements in residential areas; contributed many important ideas to building a clean and strong Party and government; participated in the election of the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels, met with voters, contributed to the Party Congress documents at all levels, built conventions, self-management models in residential areas, the movement to protect national security and order, prevent crimes and social evils, and rehabilitate people who have made mistakes and integrated them into the community. Actively fought against corruption and negativity; built a cultural life, etc. Through this, the elderly have mobilized to donate over 5,000 m2 of land for road construction, contributing 1,500 working days to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas. Through activities in the political system, the elderly have fulfilled their role as a center of solidarity and consensus among the people, a source of trust and a reliable support for Party committees and local authorities.

On this occasion, 5 elderly people received certificates of merit from the Provincial People's Committee, 32 individuals were commended by the Provincial Elderly Association for their outstanding achievements in building the grassroots political system in the period 2019-2024.
