Connectivity promotes rail tourism in the Central region

Attending the conference were representatives of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism); leaders of the Departments of Tourism, Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism in the Central region and many tourism businesses.

According to the leader of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Dinh, the workshop aims to strengthen cooperation between international travel companies in Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, Binh Dinh and major cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, exploit the potential and strengths of tourism resources in each locality, form tourism products, especially exploit the railway connecting localities in the Central region.

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam said that in 2024, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province signed a memorandum of cooperation with Quang Nam Railway Corporation for the period 2024 - 2030.

On that basis, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam and Vietnam Railways Corporation issued a Joint Plan on cooperation in promoting and developing tourism in Quang Nam and railways for the period 2024 - 2026 to diversify tourism products and build tourism products by rail.

Thereby, contributing to increasing the number of tourists coming to Quang Nam by rail through Tra Kieu station and Tam Ky station; expanding the "Central Heritage Train" connecting route between tourist destinations; connecting and promoting tourism development links between railways and tourism service businesses in Quang Nam province.

Representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam also recommended that the Vietnam National Tourism Administration pay attention to strengthening communication and promotion of tourist destinations, green tourism products, and railway tourism in domestic and foreign events and fairs organized by the agency to promote railway tourism in the region.

On this occasion, delegates made many assessments and proposed scientific and practical solutions on the orientation of developing Binh Dinh tourism products; orientation of developing railway tourism in particular and orientation of attracting tourists to localities in the region in general in the coming time.
