People's Artist Thanh Trang - wife of People's Artist Xuan Quang - said that her husband passed away after being treated for stage 3 nasopharyngeal cancer. He passed away at 4:05 p.m. on March 29, at the age of 64.
At 5:00 a.m. on March 30, the family will hold the burial at their home in District 12, Ho Chi Minh City.

The program "Mai Vang Tri An" once visited and gave gifts to People's Artist Xuan Quang, supporting his treatment. Despite his serious illness, People's Artist Xuan Quan remained optimistic and kept his spirit up. He still performed normally, went to the theater to participate in supporting roles and continued to teach at the University of Theater and Cinema in Ho Chi Minh City.
People's Artist Huu Danh commented: "People's Artist Xuan Quan, despite having to fight cancer, still maintains an optimistic spirit and wants to continue to contribute to the profession of hát bội. He is one of the mainstay artists of the HCM City Opera House. Although he has retired, he is still working hard to pass on his skills to the younger generation.
With a 3-generation tradition of being attached to the art of hát bội, he has many memorable roles and many roles have won gold medals at performances and festivals of hát bội art.
