(CLO) In the spirit of solidarity towards compatriots in difficult circumstances during the Lunar New Year 2025, on the morning of January 16, the Vietnam Journalists Association coordinated with the Quang Tri Provincial Journalists Association to organize the program "Tet Sum Vay, Sharing Love" in a number of districts in Quang Tri province.

Vietnam Journalists Association coordinated with Quang Tri Provincial Journalists Association and other units to organize the program "Happy Tet, Sharing Love" in Trieu Trung commune, Trieu Phong district.
At Trieu Trung commune, on behalf of the working delegation, journalist Nguyen Duc Loi, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, presented 200 Tet gifts (each gift worth 600,000 VND in cash) to people in difficult circumstances in the commune.
Speaking at the program, journalist Nguyen Duc Loi said that as the Lunar New Year is approaching, the volunteer group of the Vietnam Journalists Association is very happy to return to the districts in Quang Tri province, including the communes of Trieu Phong district, to bring meaningful gifts to the people.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Binh, Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Trieu Trung commune, shared: the commune currently has 1,334 households/6,036 people. Of which, there are 32 poor households, 44 near-poor households and 100 households are policy families and people with revolutionary contributions.
Mr. Binh said: Today's program is not simply about giving gifts to poor households and households in difficult circumstances, but it also demonstrates the spirit of mutual love and support of our nation and implements the Party and State's viewpoint on poverty reduction.

Mr. Le Yen, 75 years old, Ngo Xa Dong village, Trieu Trung commune said: "My family is very difficult, my daughter got married far away, my wife had a stroke nearly 20 years ago, my family mainly depends on farming but because of old age we can no longer do it, today I am very happy to receive Tet gifts from the Vietnam Journalists Association with other households in the commune, this is a source of encouragement and motivation for my family".
Speaking at the program, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Vu, Vice Chairman of Trieu Phong District People's Committee, said that implementing the province's Tet for the poor policy, Trieu Phong District has recently called on sponsors to give gifts to more than 2,000 local people who are still facing many difficulties. However, the care for the poor has not met the expectations of the people.

On the same day, at Trieu Van Border Guard Station, the delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Quang Tri Provincial Journalists Association organized the program "Border Spring - Warming the hearts of sea people" Tet At Ty 2025 to give gifts to people in Trieu Tan and Trieu Co communes, Trieu Phong district.

At the program, journalist Nguyen Duc Loi, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association and members of the delegation presented 250 Tet gifts, each worth 600,000 VND in cash, to people in Trieu Tan and Trieu Co communes. The gifts were sent directly to poor households, near-poor households, and policy families. In addition, the delegation also presented 10 gifts to families of border guards and soldiers in difficult circumstances.
Expressing deep gratitude to the Vietnam Journalists Association, press agencies and sponsors, Lieutenant Colonel Ngo Quang Thuyen - Party Secretary, Political Commissar of Trieu Van Border Post said that the valuable and meaningful gifts presented by the Program today have truly contributed to bringing Spring early to disadvantaged households and students in the two communes.

Lieutenant Colonel Ngo Quang Thuyen emphasized: Trieu Tan and Trieu Co communes are coastal border areas, economic and social life has developed more than before, but they are also among the difficult areas of Trieu Phong district and Quang Tri province, the main labor force is fishing and aquaculture, seafood and agricultural production depends heavily on weather conditions.
"Currently, many families are facing difficulties in daily life and housing, so we respectfully hope that the Vietnam Journalists Association, press agencies and sponsors will continue to pay attention to the Party Committee, government, army and people in the two communes," added Political Commissar of Border Guard Station Trieu Van.
