Vietnam's billion-dollar industries exported to the US

In 2024, Vietnam's export turnover to the US will reach nearly 120 billion USD, with many industries reaching a turnover of billions of USD.

According to the Customs Department, in 2024, Vietnam's total export turnover of goods to the US will reach 119.5 billion USD, an increase of 23.17% compared to 2023.

Of which, the 10 most exported items to the US reached a turnover of 98.54 billion USD, accounting for 82.46% of the total turnover.

In this list, there are two groups of goods with export value of over 20 billion USD: computers, electronic products and components reaching 23.2 billion USD and other machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts reaching 22.05 billion USD.

Next is the textile and garment group with export turnover reaching 16.15 billion USD.

The groups of phones of all kinds and components reached 9.82 billion USD; wood and wood products reached 9.06 billion USD; footwear of all kinds reached 8.28 billion USD; means of transport and spare parts reached 3.27 billion USD; plastic products reached 3.08 billion USD; seafood reached 1.83 billion USD and handbags, wallets, suitcases, hats, umbrellas reached 1.8 billion USD.

In addition to the TOP 10, exports of iron and steel products also reached 1.33 billion USD; iron and steel of all kinds reached 1.31 billion USD; cameras, camcorders and components reached 1.2 billion USD; cashew nuts reached 1.1 billion USD...

In the first two months of 2025, according to the General Statistics Office, there were 6 groups of Vietnamese goods exported to the US with a value of 1 billion USD or more, including computers, electronic products and components reaching 4.33 billion USD, up 33.7%; machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts reaching 3.3 billion USD, up 22.6%.

Textile and garment products reached 2.46 billion USD, up 12.5%; phones and components reached 1.95 billion USD, down 15.4%; wood and wood products reached 1.3 billion USD, up 9.2%; footwear reached 1.29 billion USD, up 16.1%.

In addition, many product groups achieved export turnover of hundreds of millions of USD such as plastic products; toys, sports equipment and parts; means of transport and spare parts; seafood; handbags, wallets, suitcases, hats, etc.

Thus, export turnover to the US market in the first two months of the year reached 19.56 billion USD, an increase of 16.5%, equivalent to an increase of 2.77 billion USD over the same period last year.

Meanwhile, in the opposite direction, Vietnam also imported 43 items from the US with a turnover of more than 2.59 billion USD in just the first 2 months of 2025.

Of which, the most imported items include computers, electronic products and components reaching 904.3 million USD, up 41.8% over the same period last year, accounting for 34.8%. Next is raw plastic products reaching 162.4 million USD, up 65.7%.
