24k gold-plated Phalaenopsis orchid pot in Hanoi is priced at 3.868 billion VND
In recent years, the demand for Phalaenopsis orchids - the queen of orchids - has been increasing among consumers. On the days approaching the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024, pots of colorful Phalaenopsis orchids have been transported by gardeners to major cities to serve connoisseurs.
Notable among them is an orchid pot grafted from more than 2,600 Phalaenopsis orchid branches, placed on a 24k gold-plated pot, being sold for 3.868 billion VND at a flower market in Hanoi, causing a stir in public opinion.
This is considered the "biggest" orchid pot in Vietnam so far. The "bigness" of the orchid pot has attracted many people to admire, take pictures, and keep memorable moments.
This Phalaenopsis orchid pot named "Cuu Long Tranh Chau" is being displayed at a Tet flower booth in the My Dinh area (Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi).
According to the introduction, the Phalaenopsis orchid pot is about 4m high, nearly 2m wide, weighs more than 1 ton, and is handmade. The pot was crafted by a Thai Binh artisan within 3 months, plated with 24k gold.
This work is 5m high, 4m wide in diameter, made from 2,686 branches of Da Lat Phalaenopsis orchids, with different colors. The highlight of the work is the orchid pot shaped from 9 winding dragons, competing for a pearl.
To complete the work, 5-6 skilled workers had to work continuously for many days. The pot was crafted and gilded by a Thai Binh artisan over 3 months.
Phalaenopsis orchid pot worth nearly 2 billion VND in Ho Chi Minh City has someone asking to buy it
A nearly 4m-tall Phalaenopsis orchid pot for sale for nearly VND2 billion in Ho Chi Minh City is attracting the attention of many flower lovers. According to Nguoi Dua Tin, someone in Ho Chi Minh City has asked to buy it and is in the process of negotiating.
This Phalaenopsis orchid pot is about 4m high and 3.5m in diameter, displayed at the Tet flower stall at Thao Dien night market, Thu Duc city.
To create this work, 5-6 workers painstakingly tied together 868 grade 1 orchid branches, continuously for 5 days to complete the 'giant' Phalaenopsis orchid pot.
According to the owner of the orchid pot, the number 868 flower branches and the gold-plated pot symbolize wealth, prosperity, and fortune in the first days of spring.
In addition to investing in 868 white Phalaenopsis orchid branches, to add more uniqueness, the flower pot is even plated with 24K gold with a value of more than 150 million VND. Currently, the orchid pot is valued at 1.868 billion VND.
Gold-plated orchid pot costs over 1.6 billion VND in Bac Giang
At a Tet orchid stall in Bac Giang city, an orchid pot with nearly 1,000 flower branches and 24k gold plated is on sale for more than 1.6 billion VND, attracting the attention of customers.
According to Tien Phong Newspaper, this orchid pot has nearly 1000 orchid branches with 3 colors: white, purple, yellow. The orchids in the pot are imported from Da Lat.
Mr. Pham Van Huy, the owner of the gold-plated orchid pot, said that this orchid pot was plated with 24k gold, about 5-6 taels of gold. He had to hire a team of workers to plant the orchid pot for 1 day and 2 people to plate the pot with gold for 12 hours.
According to the stall owner, this is considered the most expensive orchid pot in Bac Giang province.
Mr. Huy shared that since being displayed at the booth, the gold-plated orchid pot has attracted the attention of many visitors. A customer from Bac Giang negotiated with him to buy this orchid pot. The customer wanted to buy this orchid pot to display at their ancestral shrine.
However, the customer asked Mr. Huy to replace the 24k gold with a higher quality gold than the one used on the orchid pot.
“Customers’ requests for other types of gold plating are difficult for me to meet at this time. Therefore, the gold-plated orchid pot worth more than 1.6 billion VND has not yet found a buyer. This year’s Tet, I made a billion-VND orchid pot to test the market for next year,” said Mr. Huy.
