TPO – With nearly a month left until the Lunar New Year, orchid growers in Lam Dong are busy entering the harvest season to supply the market in time. At this time, flower gardens are blooming brightly, ready to welcome Tet.

Phalaenopsis and cymbidium orchids are imported from local households, then carefully inspected and classified before being potted. |
According to Mr. An, flower packaging must be very careful to protect the flowers from damage during transportation. |
“For many years, my family has always imported flowers in large quantities during Tet to meet the needs of customers in and outside the province,” said Mr. An. |
Similarly, in Da Ron commune (Don Duong district), Mr. Phan Thanh Sang's flower garden also prepares flowers for Tet, increasing the number of workers to take care of the flowers. |
Mr. Ha So Rem, an employee of Mr. Sang's garden, said that the flower harvest begins in the middle of the 11th lunar month and is packed into specialized cardboard boxes for transportation. |
Currently, Sang’s farm packs about 150 boxes a day, and that number will double during the peak Tet season. To meet the large number of orders, workers work from morning to night, even until 11pm every day during peak times. |
Lam Dong province has 750 hectares of flower growing land, including 100 hectares of Phalaenopsis orchids, with an annual output of 15 million pots. Currently, gardeners have applied advanced technology to flower production, helping to improve quality and meet market demand. |
