If the Red Cross Society (RCS) is a “bridge” in humanitarian activities, the volunteer clubs of the RCS are the “bridges” in carrying out humanitarian and charitable work. In recent years, the RCS’ clubs have actively mobilized resources and increased the implementation of activities to help people in difficult circumstances.
Established on March 29, 2021, the Doan Hung Charity Club with 28 members is a place to connect people who are passionate about humanitarian work. With the motto "connecting and sharing", the Doan Hung Charity Club has become a familiar name to many people in difficult circumstances. The club has carried out many meaningful humanitarian and charitable activities, bringing joy and happiness to poor families, patients in difficult circumstances, lonely elderly people, and vulnerable people in the community... such as: Free haircuts for people at the Provincial Social Protection Center; support clothes, money, bicycles, organizing house construction,... for people in difficult circumstances. In particular, during the recent storm No. 3, the Club called for donations and organized trucks carrying relief goods, life jackets, necessities, cash, etc. to send to people in flooded areas of Ha Hoa district (Phu Tho), Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang with a total value of about 500 million VND.
Doan Hung Charity Club lovingly supported money to build a house for Mr. Dao Van Son's family in Hung Xuyen commune, Doan Hung district.
To ensure support for the right people, the Club has assigned members to survey the actual circumstances of the people in need of support, thereby choosing the appropriate form of support; calling on members and benefactors to participate in support. All activities of resource mobilization and gift giving are made public and transparent by the Club; coordinating with the Red Cross Society to join hands to help the disadvantaged in the province and other localities.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Hoang - Head of the Doan Hung Charity Club said: “We have many ways to mobilize and appeal, and most importantly, the club must create prestige and trust to gain everyone's support. After each program, the club members all want to continue doing charity work. The club's activities are increasingly spreading strongly, attracting many young people to participate, contributing small efforts to society.”
For patients and their families who need blood, the Provincial Blood Bank Club is a reliable place for them to find blood for emergency and treatment purposes. The club was established and has been operating since 2008 with 72 members. Volunteers of the Provincial Blood Bank Club and clubs at all levels of the Red Cross have donated blood and directly donated 2,700 units of blood at Red Cross programs, including 1,900 units of blood donated in emergency cases, saving the lives of many patients in critical condition due to anemia. Ms. Do Thi Hai - Vice President of the Provincial Reserve Blood Bank Club said: "With the spirit of connecting love, the Club members are always ready to participate in blood donation campaigns when there are patients who need blood for emergency treatment. At the same time, the members also actively participate in the propaganda and mobilization of the Red Cross Society's blood donation campaign so that people can better understand the role of blood donation and actively participate in voluntary blood donation. Thanks to that, the Club has been known by many people, trusted and sought out when they need blood."
Members of the Provincial Reserve Blood Bank Club actively participated in donating blood and taking care of blood donors at the program "Red Drops of the Ancestral Land".
At the Provincial General Hospital, the Mental Hospital, the Lung Hospital and the Medical Centers of districts and towns in the province, for many years, teams and groups of volunteers have been organized and connected to maintain the "Kitchen of Love" model in two forms: supporting funding for medical facilities and providing free meals for poor patients and their relatives. As of October 2023, the total value reached nearly 18 billion VND, providing free porridge to more than 1.8 million poor patients.
Up to now, the whole province has 117 teams, groups, and clubs of Red Cross volunteers with nearly 1,502 members participating in activities in the fields of first aid; health care; propaganda, blood donation mobilization; humanitarian aid mobilization... Of which, there are 4 clubs, teams, and groups established by the provincial Association; 33 clubs, teams, and groups established by the district Association and equivalent; 80 clubs, teams, and groups established by the commune and grassroots levels; 7 clubs, teams, and groups operating spontaneously and regularly have a relationship of coordination with the Associations at all levels. |

The active participation of clubs, teams, and groups of CTĐ volunteers has created the emulation movement "Everyone does good deeds, every family does good deeds, every industry does good deeds", contributing significantly to the work of mobilizing humanitarian aid in the province.
In order for the clubs, teams, and groups of Red Cross volunteers to operate effectively, in depth, ensuring objectivity, democracy, and transparency, in the coming time, the Provincial Red Cross Association will continue to implement solutions to consolidate, improve, develop, and guide the organization of activities.
