At Nam Sai Gon High School (District 7), Mr. Tran Nghia Nhan, the school's principal, said that students participate in graduation exam review in the form of "running" classes. Each week, the school builds 8 review periods, divided equally among 4 exam subjects.

Accordingly, students of grade 12 will study two compulsory subjects, math and literature, according to the fixed, regular class schedule. The two elective subjects will be studied in periods 6 and 7, respectively, on Wednesday and Thursday every week.

Mr. Tran Nghia Nhan informed that organizing exam review classes in the form of "running" classes as above requires the school to arrange 3-5 more classrooms to meet the needs of students choosing elective subjects.

Each class will be taught by a teacher and during weekly review classes, supervisors will monitor student attendance to ensure the best and most effective preparation for students.

Similarly, the "running" exam preparation class arrangement is also applied by Duong Van Thi High School (Thu Duc City). The school selects the most experienced teachers to be responsible for teaching the above classes. Students base on the class list and timetable to participate in their subjects with a duration of 2 periods/subject.

At Tay Thanh High School (Tan Phu District), based on the trend of students choosing graduation subjects, the school has organized 19 English review classes, 14 physics review classes, 7 chemistry review classes, 2 biology classes, 3 history classes, 3 geography classes and one economics and law education class.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Dat, Principal of Tay Thanh High School, said that in addition to teachers teaching and consolidating knowledge closely following the structure and orientation of the exam, the school will spend about 3 weeks from the end of May to the beginning of June to organize a systematization of knowledge and practice test-taking skills, paying attention to how to calculate scores for multiple-choice questions of this year's exam so that students can confidently enter the exam.

BUILDING A DIGITAL RESOURCE WAREHOUSE FOR STUDENTS TO SELF-STUDY

Mr. Huynh Thanh Phu, Principal of Bui Thi Xuan High School (District 1), said that students of this school choose 2 main graduation exam subjects out of 4 subjects: English, physics, chemistry, and biology. At the same time, the main subject combinations for admission are groups A, A1, B, and D. Through the survey, nearly 100% of students will participate in the graduation exam review at school. Around the beginning of March, the school will consult parents again to develop a sprint plan starting from May 5 to about June 20. During this sprint period, the school will arrange the timetable so that each student will participate in reviewing and practicing test-taking skills for all 4 exam subjects.

Similarly, Mr. Nguyen Hung Khuong, Principal of Ernst Thälmann High School (District 1), informed that the school is currently still organizing teaching according to the school year plan, combining the second session to review, consolidate and improve knowledge; at the same time, expanding the learning space on the LMS 360 system, building a digital learning material warehouse for students to self-study. In addition, the school organizes periodic mock exams to help students get used to the pressure of exams and practice test-taking skills.

Master Pham Le Thanh, Nguyen Hien High School (District 11), shared that he has guided students to create a personalized study plan according to the schedule, prioritizing 4 high school exam subjects to proactively update knowledge and make effective use of time. Share with students websites, ChatGPT tools to search and select documents, exam questions, and support answering questions for students. Make use of class time to both study and consolidate in class to best absorb knowledge and skills. Organize students to study in groups to improve together.

Mr. Thanh added: "For good students, we can guide them on self-study and research methods. However, for weak students, those lacking motivation and not knowing where to start, teachers need to spend time interacting in class, helping more, supporting these students so that they can systematize their knowledge and be more confident when the high school exam is approaching."

Therefore, Master Tran Van Toan, a math teacher at TVT Marth Edu Center (District 3), said that 12th grade students need to make a review plan for the coming time. At least 6 weeks before the official exam, students need to set out review content and review methods that closely follow the sample exam structure announced by the Ministry of Education and Training.

According to Mr. Toan, students need to apply methods to natural subjects such as systematizing formulas, doing theoretical exercises; doing exercises quickly, memorizing quick solutions; practicing skills in checking true/false statements, paying special attention to theory; solving practical problems, finding optimal solutions; practicing solving exercises within the prescribed time, checking for errors, learning from experience; reviewing easy-to-make exercises, practicing many reference exercises.

Schools must ensure that students master the knowledge and skills required by the curriculum and separate them from extra teaching and learning activities according to their needs. Teachers need to guide students to learn how to self-study, self-review, and systematize the knowledge they have learned. Extra learning outside of school aims to improve knowledge and skills according to the legitimate wishes and needs of students, decided by students. However, it is necessary to pay attention to spending a lot of time on self-study and self-review to achieve effectiveness."

Recently, the document of the Ministry of Education and Training sent to localities requested to strengthen management and implementation in the field of general education, the new regulations on extra teaching and learning also emphasized: "Absolutely do not loosen the organization of review and training for students with unsatisfactory learning results; organize for final grade students to strengthen review for entrance exams, review for graduation exams according to the school's education plan, determining that this is the responsibility of the schools...".
