Japan hands over modern medical equipment to 4 hospitals

In Hanoi, the handover ceremony of the first batch of medical equipment provided by the Japanese Government as non-refundable aid to four Vietnamese hospitals took place, including the Central Lung Hospital, the Central Hematology and Blood Transfusion Hospital, the Central Tropical Diseases Hospital, and Da Nang Hospital.

According to Mr. Sasaki Shohei, First Secretary of the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, in charge of Japan-Vietnam cooperation, this is a project of the Japanese Government providing non-refundable aid to the Vietnamese Government to support strengthening solutions to respond to infectious diseases.

The Japanese government has conducted a bidding process to purchase medical equipment and provided it to the above 4 hospitals in 3 phases, with 19 types of medical equipment. Up to now, the bidding process has been completed and the first phase of medical equipment has been handed over and installed at 4 hospitals with many types of equipment, such as: defibrillators, blood gas analyzers, portable ultrasound machines, and intensive care beds. The value of the medical equipment support package for the 4 hospitals is more than 1.9 billion Japanese yen.
