Speaking at an online conference to review the work of the culture, sports and tourism sector in 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025, on the morning of December 18 in Hanoi, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested the building of advanced examples, replicating good models and good practices, creating movements and development trends.
"Why don't we summarize and expand the two recent concerts? Why have women's soccer and women's volleyball achieved such success? Why do tourism have such attractive destinations?", the Prime Minister raised the issue.
The two concerts mentioned are Anh trai vu ngan cong gai and Anh trai say hi, which have been causing a stir recently. The Anh trai say hi concerts on December 7 and 9 at My Dinh Stadium had an audience that was said to be no less than the two shows of Korean group Blackpink last year, at the same location. Before that, the "brothers" had two shows in Ho Chi Minh City, also attracting tens of thousands of people each night.
The concert Anh trai vu ngan cong gai took place in Ho Chi Minh City in October and Hung Yen on December 14. The organizers did not announce the number of spectators, but estimated that the number of viewers in Hung Yen was larger than in Ho Chi Minh City (about 20,000 people).

At the conference this morning, the Prime Minister noted the need to create institutional breakthroughs in the direction of resolutely abandoning the mindset of "if you can't manage it, then ban it", and resolutely eliminating the "ask - give" mechanism.
The head of the Government noted that in addition to finance, land, and human resources, institutions, mechanisms, and policies are measures to mobilize resources. Therefore, the cultural sector needs to actively think and propose policies to promote forms of public-private partnership, "there is still a lot of room to exploit cultural institutions, especially stadiums like My Dinh".
"We have a National Target Program on Cultural Development, but if we only rely on State resources, it will be very difficult to develop. Developing the cultural industry and entertainment industry requires mobilizing public-private partnership resources, social resources, and business resources," the Prime Minister said, noting that State capital should lead and activate all social resources, people, and businesses.
In addition, the cultural sector needs to train high-quality human resources, have specific mechanisms and policies suitable for the arts and sports sectors; have policies to retain talented people, motivate talented and passionate people, and encourage those who dare to think, dare to do, dare to innovate and create, and deal with those who avoid or fear responsibility.
According to a report by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in 2024, Vietnamese sports participated in sports festivals and won a total of 1,214 international medals.
In 2024, international tourists to Vietnam are estimated to reach 17.5 million, up 38.9% over the same period in 2023; domestic tourists are estimated to reach 110 million, up 1.6% over the same period in 2023.
