Over the past 2 years, with the efforts of the entire political system and the high consensus among the people, the emulation movement "Joining hands to build advanced new rural areas" in Vinh Hoa commune (Vinh Loc) has achieved many important results. People are excited, actively working and producing to increase income, the environment has been clearly improved, rural traffic is increasingly bright, green, clean and beautiful; the face of the countryside has clearly changed; the material and spiritual life of the people is increasingly improved.
In Phap Ngo village, Vinh Hoa commune, 69 households participated in donating land to expand the road.
One of the highlights of the past time is that the people in the commune have been and are supporting the donation of land to expand intra-field and rural roads. The people of Phap Ngo and Huu Chap villages are at the forefront of the movement. Over the past year, 107 households in the two villages have donated 1,200m2 of land to expand intra-field roads and over 3,000m2 of land to expand roads in residential areas. Notably, in the first quarter of 2023, 69 households on the 2.3km long inter-village road proactively donated 2,400m2 of residential land, voluntarily demolished structures on the land to adjust, expand, and create a new model of inter-village roads, with a road surface of more than 10m wide.
The family of Ms. Do Thi Khanh in Phap Ngo village was one of the pioneers in donating land when there was a policy to upgrade and expand the road. As the head of the commune's women's association, her family's economy was still difficult, but her family still voluntarily donated more than 100 square meters of land to join the villagers in completing the site clearance and expanding the village's traffic route to over 230 meters long and 4.5 meters wide. Ms. Do Thi Khanh shared: "As a village cadre, I actively promoted and mobilized households to participate in donating land to build roads. With love for my homeland as well as the desire for the village roads and alleys to be expanded, spacious, and clean, my family agreed to demolish fences, auxiliary works, and cut down many fruit trees to expand the traffic route in the village."
Following the Party Secretary of Phap Ngo village, Trinh Ngoc Hoan, to each household to mobilize land for road construction, he realized the significance of the consensus of the people participating in the movement. While explaining the convenience in traffic and production when the roads are expanded, he also encouraged the people to join hands and unite with the locality to invest in building rural traffic infrastructure, contributing to socio-economic development and improving people's lives.
Mr. Hoan shared: “In order to gain the solidarity and unanimous participation of the people, right from the time the policy of upgrading and expanding the traffic roads was issued, the commune organized public meetings throughout the political system from units, organizations to households in the spirit of “People know, people discuss, people do, people benefit”. Determining this as a major policy with a breakthrough in investing in building rural traffic infrastructure, the village front work committee focused on mobilizing the people to respond to the movement of donating land for road construction. The Party cell has developed a resolution, the village has organized meetings with the people to discuss and received high approval from the people. Donating land and dismantling residential buildings to build roads has become a widespread movement and is developing strongly in the village. Up to now, the village has 48 households donating land with 1,816.8m2”.
Vinh Hoa Commune Party Secretary Trinh Dinh Minh said: The movement of donating land for rural and intra-field roads is receiving special attention and strong direction from the Party Committee and government, and is enthusiastically supported by the villages and people. Currently, the whole commune has about 320 households volunteering to donate land for roads, with a total area of 4,090.5m2; of which about 1,800m2 is residential land; 2,290.5m2 is agricultural land. A typical example is Phap Ngo village, although it is a Catholic village, the people are very sympathetic to donating land for roads, the whole village has 69 households participating in donating land with an area of up to thousands of square meters.
It can be said that the movement of donating land to build rural roads in Vinh Hoa commune has brought about practical results, because the new roads have helped people's trade become more convenient, creating momentum for socio-economic development, improving people's lives, contributing to building the commune to develop more and more and towards achieving the advanced NTM standard by 2024.
