In response to the 2024 “Ripe Fruit Season” Festival, these days, people in the gardens are urgently taking care of their gardens, preparing conditions to welcome tourists to visit, take photos, enjoy and experience. This is an opportunity for gardeners in the Southern region in general, and Binh Duong in particular, to exchange, learn, discuss and share experiences in developing agricultural economy, join hands to build and develop garden ecotourism; at the same time, introduce quality fruits to visitors from near and far.

Remember the golden memories
Coming to Cau Ngang area (Thuan An city) these days, visitors can easily feel the festive atmosphere spreading. The gardeners here are also bustling with joy as the fruits are ripening, welcoming visitors from near and far. Sharing with us the joy of being immersed in the joyful and bustling atmosphere of this year's festival season, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh (Thanh Quy quarter, An Thanh ward) said that her family has nearly 4 hectares of orchards and every year they look forward to the 3 summer months. Because, after a year of hard work taking care of the trees, fertilizing, weeding, and clearing the ditches twice a day, the fruit trees in the garden are ripe and waiting to be harvested.
In Hoang Anh’s childhood memories, about 30 years ago, every summer, the fruits in the garden, such as durian, mangosteen, jackfruit, rambutan, longan… ripened red in the garden; while the adults harvested, she and her siblings were assigned by the family to take care of the garden and guide visitors. Visitors from all over flocked to the garden, so almost every day was as joyful as a festival. Some nearby gardens had restaurants, so diners enjoyed the fragrant dishes, chatting and laughing, very happy.
In recent years, Ms. Hoang Anh and her family have been excited to participate in the fruit stall at the “Ripe Fruit Season” Festival area, supplying fruit to surrounding shops. This is also an opportunity for her family to exchange, learn, discuss and share experiences in planting and caring for orchards, join hands to build and develop garden ecotourism; at the same time, introduce quality fruits to visitors from near and far.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Van Doi, owner of the 99 Garden restaurant (Hung Dinh ward, Thuan An city), said that last year the mangosteen harvest was good, the garden was very fruitful, and many customers came to enjoy the fruits and garden dishes in the restaurant, so his whole family was always busy and happy. According to this old farmer who owns nearly 500 mangosteen trees with an average age of 50-60 years old, customers from Hanoi, Quang Ninh, the Central region, the West and abroad, customers from districts and cities in the province, and all regions really like the local specialty fruits and unique garden dishes here. Therefore, serving tourists everywhere is also a joy, a motivation for him and his family to stick with his garden.

Preserving the reputation of Lai Thieu garden
Mr. Nguyen Van Doi said that due to the weather, this year, despite careful care, the fruit yield only reached about 30% compared to last year. However, the 99 Garden restaurant still kept the same price as last year and took care to preserve the original flavor of the famous garden dishes of Lai Thieu, such as: Mangosteen chicken salad, durian grilled chicken, durian grilled quail, mangosteen grilled snakehead fish...
Leaving the 99 Garden, we stopped by the Hong Van Garden (Hung Dinh ward) a few dozen meters away. Welcoming us with a joyful face, Ms. Nguyen Kim Huong, owner of the Hong Van Garden, said that before the summer break, her family had invested in renovating the huts with hammocks, tables and chairs, fans, electrical outlets, concrete pavements... in the garden so that guests could visit, pick fruits, and enjoy garden specialties. In addition, the restaurant also invested in decorating the backdrop, colorful and beautiful pinwheels... for groups of guests to organize parties in the garden.
According to Mr. Ly Binh Son, Chairman of Hung Dinh Ward People's Committee, in order to continue to create a good impression in the hearts of every tourist coming to the "Ripe Fruit Season" Festival in 2024, Hung Dinh Ward People's Committee has implemented many forms of propaganda and encouragement so that people know about the purpose, meaning, and content of the festival organization, thereby mobilizing people to participate in promoting garden tourism, responding to festival activities, demonstrating the spirit of hospitality, communication, and civilized and polite behavior. Up to now, people and garden owners have had the opportunity to participate in organizing business locations as a basis for connecting tours to ensure that fruits are sold at the correct weight and listed price, without touts, solicitations, or overcharging. At the same time, the locality prevents and handles the situation of raising prices, soliciting and harassing tourists.
To meet the needs of visitors from near and far, creating a good impression in the hearts of everyone when coming to this year's festival, gardeners in Binh Nham, Hung Dinh, An Thanh wards and An Son commune of Thuan An city have all invested in cleaning and making their gardens airy, decorating their shops more spacious and beautiful, and listing their menus with full price lists. The authorities, departments, organizations and gardeners in the city have coordinated and joined hands to build a friendly and hospitable image for this year's festival.
