The King of Belgium visits and works in Quang Ninh

During the visit to Vietnam, along with the official welcoming ceremonies in Hanoi, the activities of the King, Queen and the Belgian delegation also took place in Quang Ninh; contributing to affirming the position and prestige of the province. With the participation of dozens of representatives of leading Belgian corporations and enterprises, the visit also showed that Quang Ninh has been, is and continues to be a destination chosen by many investors from Belgium as well as the European Union (EU).

King Philippe expressed his impression and congratulated Quang Ninh on its socio-economic development achievements; at the same time, he said that Quang Ninh is a locality with great potential and advantages, creating new cooperation opportunities between European countries in general and Belgium in particular. Appreciating Quang Ninh's proposal, the King affirmed that he would connect with businesses and investors, bringing cooperation programs with Vietnam in general and Quang Ninh in particular to a new level. The King asked Quang Ninh province to create favorable conditions for Belgian businesses to have opportunities to cooperate and invest, especially in logistics and seaport development.

Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee Vu Dai Thang emphasized that this is a particularly important milestone in the cooperative relationship between Quang Ninh province and partners and localities of the Kingdom of Belgium, opening up valuable opportunities for the two sides to promote comprehensive cooperation in the coming time. Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee Vu Dai Thang said that the province always attaches importance to and wishes to promote the expansion of deep and practical cooperation with localities and partners in Belgium, especially in areas of Belgium's strengths such as:

Manufacturing and processing industry, pharmaceutical industry, automobile industry; construction of specialized technology complexes, investment in developing industrial park infrastructure; development of seaport infrastructure, seaport services, logistics; renewable energy; digital transformation, digital economy, innovation, green economy, circular economy; high-tech agriculture; tourism, services; education and training.

In 2024, Quang Ninh will attract nearly 2.9 billion USD in foreign direct investment (FDI) and be one of the top 5 provinces and cities in the country. In 2025, Quang Ninh aims to attract FDI and be among the top localities in the country.
