(NLDO) - A high school in Dak Lak was reported to have scheduled extra classes that overlapped with regular classes, causing students to skip physical education and national defense education to attend extra classes.
A teacher and a parent at Cao Ba Quat High School (Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak Province) have just sent a petition to many press agencies to reflect on the shortcomings at this school.
A teacher at Cao Ba Quat High School reported that students were absent from regular classes to attend extra classes.
In the petition, this teacher reported 7 issues related to extra teaching, extra learning, cutting down trees, illegal fees...
In particular, according to the complaint, at the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year, the school allowed students to take time off from physical education and national defense education to attend extra classes at the school for a fee.
Along with the application, this teacher provided some evidence such as the consecutive records in the class book of the number of students absent from physical education and national defense education classes to attend extra classes according to the school schedule.
Typically, on two days in October 2023, the physical education teacher clearly wrote in the class book: "22 students attend extra classes at school". This situation lasted for many weeks.
The rose pots were reflected in the school asking each class to donate one pot and showing where to buy flowers.
Along with that, this teacher also provided group messages showing that the physical education teacher voiced disagreement with the school's schedule arrangement.
"Last week, the classes I taught had 5-6 periods where students went to extra classes and missed physical education classes... If information was leaked to the outside saying that Cao Ba Quat School organized extra classes and classes so that students missed physical education and national defense classes during regular classes, it would be over."
Then, this person texted to ask: "Has Mr. S. reported to Ms. T. about the schedule for afternoon physical education and national defense? We cannot skip compulsory subjects to send students to extra classes somewhere."
In response to this question, Mr. S. replied: "Reported but not yet arranged."
To clarify the content of the reflection, on November 5, the reporter had a working session with Ms. Huynh Thi Kim Hue, Principal of Cao Ba Quat High School and 2 vice principals of the school.
At the meeting, Ms. Hue said that the school had not yet received the information the teachers reported and no competent authority had requested a report.
The reporter read some of the content in the petition, but the school leaders have not yet responded to the teachers' suggestions and comments.
Violations at the old school have not been completely resolved!
Regarding Ms. Huynh Thi Kim Hue, recently, the press has continuously reported on violations during her time as Principal of Chu Van An High School (Buon Ma Thuot City).
From 2020 to 2023, the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province has repeatedly established inspection teams to inspect and point out a series of violations at this school regarding teaching extra periods, cutting periods against regulations, and collecting money from parents against regulations...
Even after being transferred to become Principal of Cao Ba Quat High School, a teacher from the old school continued to file a complaint about Ms. Hue's violations.
In January 2024, the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province announced the results of verifying this teacher's petition, showing that Ms. Hue had committed many violations in financial and material management, and single-handedly decided many important matters of the school.
However, up to now, no individual or group has been held accountable.
