Cultural researcher Nguyen Dinh An was born in 1934 in Dien Quang commune, Dien Ban district, Quang Nam province. He was also a war correspondent for the Liberation Flag newspaper of the Propaganda Department of the V Zone Party Committee.

He was Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Nam - Da Nang province from 1995 to 1996, and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang city from 1997 to 2005.

He was awarded the 60-year Party membership badge by the Party and State along with many other medals and orders.

The Da Nang City Party Committee, Da Nang City People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City and the family said that the coffin of cultural researcher Nguyen Dinh An was laid to rest at his private home at 157 Le Loi, Hai Chau District, Da Nang City.

He was then buried at Hoa Ninh commune cemetery, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city.
