Earlier on the afternoon of April 1, the Gia Lai Provincial Department of Health issued an urgent dispatch requesting the Chu Se District Medical Center to report the incident of a medical staff being assaulted at this facility.
As reported by Tuoi Tre Online , at around 6:00 p.m. on March 31, the emergency resuscitation unit of Chu Se District Medical Center received three patients: Hoang Van Kien (58 years old), Nguyen Van Tuan (49 years old) and Ho Van Phi (41 years old), all residing in Chu Se District.
At this time, the doctor on duty, Nguyen Thi Diem Hang, was examining patient Tuan. During the examination, Dr. Hang patted the patient's leg to remind him to coordinate the examination position. Seeing this, the family of patient Ho Van Phi, who was lying in the next bed, reminded the patient that he was in pain and why the doctor was patting him so hard.
Doctor Hang replied that she used very little force and continued examining Tuan. Then, patient Phi's family members spoke challenging and threatening words, calling the doctor "you" and "I" and asking "do you know who I am and who my brother is?".
When the doctor replied that he would not talk to this person and asked him to go somewhere else, this person rushed forward and punched Dr. Hang in the face and head. Seeing this, the nurse ran to call the center's security to take this person out. Later, this person and patient Ho Van Phi left on their own.
