Along with promoting socio-economic development, the Party Committee, government and people of Nguyen Binh district (Cao Bang province) have many positive solutions in reviving, preserving and promoting the values of the nation's unique cultural heritages.
Diversity of cultural values of ethnic groups
Nguyen Binh has 17 administrative units with 119 hamlets and residential groups, with 8 ethnic groups living together, of which ethnic minorities account for more than 90% of the population. People mainly live on agriculture and forestry. The ethnic groups live together in solidarity with many diverse, rich cultures and strong national identities. Each ethnic group has a treasure trove of cultural heritage with its own nuances.
Along with the general development of society, the process of integration and exchange between different cultures has had and is having strong impacts on the cultural life of the community. Some traditional cultural identities of ethnic groups are at risk of fading away and gradually becoming mixed. Therefore, the preservation, maintenance and promotion of traditional cultural values are of great significance.
To preserve the culture of the Red Dao people, some households in Lung Chang hamlet, Vu Minh commune preserve and develop their ethnic silver carving craft. The Red Dao people's silver carving craft is considered a traditional beauty, containing the quintessence of national culture. Artisan Ly Van Sinh, Lung Chang hamlet said: Silver carving is very difficult, because silver carving must be done entirely by hand, requiring dexterity, high aesthetics, and meticulousness in each stage, from heating the red fire, pulling the silver, and carving patterns. In addition to talent, the worker needs to be highly persistent, careful, and meticulous in the work, especially must truly love the job and be passionate about it to be able to do it.

Because of their inherent tradition, the Red Dao people still persistently maintain their silver carving profession and favor the products they make.
For the Dao Tien ethnic group, not only during holidays and Tet, but also on normal days when going to work or going to the market, people still wear their ethnic costumes. The indigo-dyed costumes are hand-embroidered, especially the art of printing beeswax patterns on fabric has been preserved by the Dao Tien ethnic group for generations. According to Mrs. Ban Thi Phau, Na Chan hamlet, Hoa Tham commune, from ancient times, Dao Tien girls must know how to embroider and sew before getting married so that when they grow up, they can make their own wedding dresses. Therefore, the craft of embroidering patterns on fabric has always been preserved by Dao Tien women.
Or the art troupes of hamlets in the district are one of the core elements in preserving and transmitting the cultural identity of the nation. Ms. Dang Thi Mai, a member of the art troupe of Ban Chang hamlet, Thanh Cong commune, said: The members of the art troupe are all people who love folk culture and know many folk tunes. The content of the practice and exchange performances of the art troupes is quite rich. Besides the theme of praising the Party, Uncle Ho, the homeland, the country, the singing and dancing performances are integrated with propaganda of some contents related to life such as: implementing the Party's policies, policies and laws of the State; building a cultural life associated with the new countryside, protecting the environment... In particular, the members of the art troupe also propagate, mobilize and teach young people and children to sing their ethnic folk songs to create a future generation.
