This year, 43 years old, she has nearly 20 years of participating in social work, including 8 consecutive years as the head of the residential group. In this role, she clearly understands her responsibilities: not only managing the population, implementing policies and guidelines, but also paying attention to the lives of each household.

Every day, she spends a lot of time going to every small alley, knocking on every door to ask questions and understand their feelings. From mobilizing people to keep the environment clean, visiting the elderly, helping poor households to resolving problems in the neighborhood, she is dedicated to everything. “Being the head of the neighborhood group is not only a management job but also a responsibility to the community. I always try to make the neighborhood group a livable place, a place where everyone feels connected and cared for,” Ms. Thien shared.

Not only did she complete her assigned tasks well, Ms. Thien also proactively created many good ways to promote the residential area movement. One of the most effective activities was to encourage people to maintain public hygiene and voluntarily clear sewers on the roads during the rainy season to prevent flooding.

She actively promotes the elimination of illegal advertisements, asking each household to remove them themselves and preserve the urban beauty. Thanks to that, residential group 36 no longer has advertisements posted on electric poles and fences like before. Recently, she launched the "Flag Route" movement with enthusiastic response from the people. The streets in the group are decorated more brightly and cleanly, contributing to creating a civilized landscape.

Residential Group 36 is one of the most populated areas in the ward, with more than 500 permanent and temporary households. Ensuring security and order and managing population is an important task that Ms. Thien always focuses on by regularly updating information on population changes, requiring landlords to fully declare temporary residence, and coordinating with local police to monitor security. Thanks to that, the neighborhood is always stable, with no theft or social evils. Thanks to her close supervision, Residential Group 36 is always one of the safest areas in Khue My ward.

What makes Ms. Thien loved by the people is not only her enthusiasm and responsibility but also her kindness. She is always ready to help the poor, mobilize donors to support poor households, and award scholarships to students in difficult circumstances. Thanks to timely attention and support, residential group 36 now has no poor households and no children dropping out of school.
