The program is “homegrown” in nature as the singers and musicians are all members of the Youth Union and young people living and studying in Thach Thang Ward. Standing on stage singing the song “The Green Seed Sower”, Phan Hanh Trang, Secretary of the Ly Tu Trong Youth Union, felt her heart filled with emotion. The song has a beautiful melody praising teachers and is also the thought of Trang - a young teacher who is striving every day to sow seeds of knowledge for future generations.
“This is the first time I have stood on stage at such a meaningful community music night. Everything is so simple, from the stage to the simple sound system, but our feelings are always full. When I sing the lyrics “And I sow that green seed for life/ Gently lift my hands and water it high/ Until one day in the future, that green seed/ Will spread shade to cover the whole road”, I clearly feel my responsibility to generations of students”, Trang expressed.
Not only singing, Trang also participated in supporting funds to support students in difficult circumstances. According to Trang, the original goal of the concert was to raise funds, so everyone tried to contribute in many different ways, from direct support to mobilizing donors. Trang believes that just a little bit from each person can help children have more motivation to go to school.
The songs in the program were carefully selected by the organizers, revolving around the themes of homeland, country, youth spirit and gratitude to the previous generation. The songs “What did we see tonight”, “Uncle Ho’s generation of youth”, “Dad told me”, “Aspiration”… were sung by young people in a warm atmosphere, making many attendees emotional.
Sitting in the audience, Truong Thi Minh Nguyet (born in 2004, Thach Thang Ward) said that she clearly felt the warmth and affection that the program's organizers brought. Especially at the end, when Thach Thang Ward's delegation awarded a scholarship to Phan Gia Huy, a student at Nguyen Hue Secondary School. Although the gift was small, it contained encouragement and motivation, helping him have more motivation to excel in his studies.
Previously, Hai Chau District Youth Union coordinated with Hai Chau Ward and Binh Thuan Youth Unions to organize two music nights with the themes “Youth Concert” and “Spring Giving – Drawing Smiles”. These programs are not simply a musical playground for the young generation, but promise to become a bridge to spread the spirit of sharing and for the community.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong, Secretary of Hai Chau District Youth Union, said that the program was implemented by the District Youth Union from the beginning of 2025, expected to take place monthly through the coordination of the organization between the units of the Union and the youth. After three successful organizations, the youth music nights in the district gradually created a healthy playground for union members and youth as well as contributed to creating funds to support those in difficult circumstances.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong, the goal of the District Youth Union is to create a series of meaningful cultural and artistic activities, thereby educating the youth about historical traditions, patriotism and pioneering spirit.
Through the positive response from young people, the series of youth music nights in Hai Chau district has contributed to lighting up the dreams of many young people in the area. It is known that currently, some ward Youth Unions have planned to organize music nights with their own themes, associated with events such as International Labor Day, War Invalids and Martyrs Day, Mid-Autumn Festival, etc.
“The youth music night is also an opportunity for young people to show their talents, connect with each other through music and volunteer activities. Even small contributions, when combined, will create a large resource to support many difficult lives in the area,” Mr. Phong said passionately.
