According to the petition sent by the people to the Natural Resources and Environment Newspaper, currently in Hong Thuan commune, there are a number of companies and factories operating and producing within the dike protection corridor in Hamlet 1, Hong Thuan commune. Among them, the Tuynel Brick Factory of Giao Thuy Industrial and Commercial Joint Stock Company, the Hot Asphalt Concrete Station of Dai Phong Construction Joint Stock Company... are polluting the environment, affecting the lives and activities of the people.

Mr. Le Van Bien and some households living in Hamlet 1, Hong Thuan Commune said: “Our family has lived here for many years, the brick kiln operating near residential areas, burning day and night has affected our lives. The elderly and children are at high risk of respiratory diseases, trees and crops have reduced productivity. Recently, for some reason, an asphalt mixing station has appeared, every time it operates, it gives off an unbearable burning smell.”

People worry that brick kilns operating near residential areas will affect their health.

Sharing the same frustration with Mr. Bien, Mr. Dang Kim Son said, we are very frustrated, we have submitted a petition to the local government, requesting to handle and relocate these polluting facilities, but the government has yet to handle it.

Mr. Pham Trung Phong, Chairman of Hong Thuan Commune People's Committee, said: The local government has received the petition from the people and coordinated with the functional departments of Giao Thuy District People's Committee to inspect.

Asphalt mixing station, every time it operates, it gives off a very unpleasant burning smell.

The working minutes dated March 8, 2023 between the professional departments of Giao Thuy district, the People's Committee of Hong Thuan commune and related parties stated: Through on-site inspection, the mixing station (Dai Phong Construction Joint Stock Company - PV) is operating and functioning. The working group agreed as follows: "The unit is requested to temporarily suspend operations and only resume production when all legal procedures are completed".

Regarding the hot asphalt mixing station of Dai Phong Construction Joint Stock Company, the locality recently invited households with petitions to come and discuss and explain. People were quite upset about the hot asphalt mixing station. After being explained and discussed by the local authorities, they said that the mixing station was only temporarily placed to serve the coastal road, and when completed, the mixing station would be moved to another location.
