Village in the City is a film that is receiving a lot of attention from the audience. The film deals with the life of Hieu (Duy Hung) and Hoai (Tran Van) when they leave their hometown to go to the city to make a living.
Here, conflicts begin to arise, many complicated relationships intertwine, making it inevitable for the young couple to misunderstand. In episode 10 of the film, Hieu goes to the company to find his wife and sees Hung comforting Hoai. He doesn't know that Hung has just saved his wife from the hands of the manager and is only encouraging her to calm down, but only sees the two being very intimate.
Hieu immediately rushed in, throwing things at Hung and ignoring Hoai's attempts to stop him, giving Hung a pretty strong punch. In the movie, this scene only lasted a few minutes, but the actors had to film it 5 or 6 times in the hot weather.
Behind the scenes of Hieu's jealousy scene in "Village in the City".
It is known that in the script, Hieu's jealousy scene was described in 6 pages of the script. Therefore, the actions and expressions required from the actors were many. Sharing in the program VTV Connect, actor Tien Loc (playing Hung) said that he was "beaten" quite a lot because of this scene:
"Hung threw something at me, sometimes in the face, sometimes in the stomach, about 5 or 6 times. I was very surprised by this action because it was completely absent during rehearsal. When he shouted "act", Hung threw something at me, startling me. Unfortunately, in the following takes, because I knew I would be thrown, I always felt cautious and couldn't "catch" the unexpected emotion of the first take."
The actors gave their all for the scene.
Duy Hung also admitted that he had impulsive actions that were outside of the agreement with his colleagues during rehearsals: "During rehearsals, it was fine, but when I acted, I had the character's actions and emotions and was impulsive.
Actually, after each filming, not only myself but also Tran Van and Tien Loc also think that there are things we can do better. After each scene, we feel regretful and want to do it again."
Tran Van collapsed exhausted at the end of the scene. The wall on her left side broke during the filming of the scene where Hung was knocked down by Hieu.
Because the performance was in hot weather conditions, the scene was between two rows of workers' personal lockers, quite narrow, so some actors were injured, others were exhausted from too much action.
Duy Hung said: "Mr. Tien Loc shared that when he was punched and fell into the wall, he even broke the wall, so his hand was scratched. In the nearly 40 degree Celsius heat, all 3 actors had to practice their lines and film at the same time, so they were very tired."
